The home crowd is going to be LOUD, Seattle’s two startings OTs are banged up, their D is trash, and I believe MCDC is making it paramount the team stays level headed. I think it all adds up to a pretty good day next sunday.
I thought they were pegged to be a tough team this year
Then the Rams beat them up
WTF?
You have to wonder if LA played out of their heads, Seattle just had a bad day, both, or Seattle isn’t who we thought they were? I expect a tough game where we win by 4 points.
That said, I had us at 1-1 after two games before I saw any teams play. 2-0 certainly seems more likely after week 1. However, I never like to play against Croation coaches. They are devious little bastards.
I like the Lions chance with the Home game.
I thought these opening 2 games would be rough. And if the Lions could come out swinging and start 1-1 or 2-0 that they would have a real shot and making noise in the playoffs. It is a LOOOONNNGGGG season. But these early games are crucial in getting a good seed. You can not start out the first for games 2-2 or worse and expect greatness. You need to come out 3-1 or 4-0 to create a buffer for late season injuries and bad luck.
I like the Lions to win by more than 1 score. I think they left a ton on the field in KC. Especially offensively. And this defense is going to keep them in games. Man I can not believe how much I believe in this team.
Man me too!!!
Friggin’ scary, isn’t it.
Uncharted territory.
I’m with you. There was a TON of rust on our team against KC.
We overcame it and won the game (against the Super Bowl champs, league MVP, in their house), but there were definitely some 1st game acclimation issues (which is to be expected).
I think we got that out of our system and will be firing on all cylinders for the biggest home opener we’ve had in decades.
I’m right there with you. Never underestimate Pete Carroll. He’ll right the ship after yesterday’s disaster and I expect the Seahawks will be competitive.
As an aside, some of my best friends are Croatian coaches and not all of them are devious bastards, IMO.
Grind that grit!
Pedal to the metal.
Don’t forget last year. They won.
Then, they knocked us out if the playoffs.
That can’t go unpunished.
The Seahawks defense was pretty bad last year, and once again yesterday looked real soft. No pass rush of any kind. I’m expecting a big day from the Lions offense. Gibbs coming out party for sure at home on the turf.
I actually think we cover
I want a victory but if I’m being greedy I really want a DK meltdown as well. Maybe he’ll throw a blowout loss fueled punch at CJGJ. Too much to ask?
If Jamal Adams plays I’m willing to bet that Johnson will try to get Gibbs matched up on him right away.
Carroll, Belichick and Saban are the ones I know. Perhaps I have too small of a sample size?
I travel in rarified air of course, so yes, I was speaking of them.
Bingo! We owe those ■■■■■■■. Revenge tour begins this week. We owe the Seahawks and Panthers serious beatings this year.
Those 2 teams dropped 85 points in 2 games on AG last year.
Update! Some books now a -6!
