Lions Pick 'Better Fit' Mike Sainristil in 2024 Re-Draft

No they should not have. Should they have been aggressive with the Ennis pick and gone up and got Mikey? Maybe. But ifs and buts …

I would have loved to have seen the board if we stood pat.

Exactly. Terrion’s floor is a very very good man cover CB, IMO. He desperately need to improve his discipline while the ball is in the air, proper run fits and contain, and being a playmaker overall. If he can imrove upon those things, we may be looking at a top 5 CB.

My main thing with him is stay home in the run game. His propensity to abandon his contain responsibility to try and go make a play is a really nasty habit that he needs to fix ASAP.

It was the nail in the coffin when he let Daniels get around the edge on 4th down to pick up the first.

Right. But he did it several other times in the regular season. CD did a few times as well but far less frequently than TA.

Especially since the plan was to move Branch to S full time and Dejean was off the board.

Detroit would’ve erupted.

I think Rake will be solid

But Mikey is a game changer
Elite Nickelback playmaker

Yeah if we are revisioning, why not just pony up another bean and get Mitchell? I think TA is going to be fine. He was “right there” a lot. That is only going to get better and the awareness and hand usage will improve with experience. All that said, I did like Mikey a lot and thought he’d translate well to the NFL even on the outside if necessary. Just a highly scrappy dude. But we sort of got that in Amik so not cryin.

Mitchell benefited a lot from their scheme and the players around him. When you watch him in coverage he got beat plenty, the QB just couldn’t get the ball to him. He also had the luxury of playing a lot of zone. He’s a stud, don’t get me wrong - great playmaker - but he had it about as easy as it could get for a rookie CB, while Terrion had it about as hard as it could get. The story on which one of these guys will have a better career definitely hasn’t been written.

That said I too was a huge Mikey fan (only guy from Michigan I liked in last year’s draft honestly), but I certainly wouldn’t have taken him over Terrion, Mitchell or Wiggins honestly. Maybe not Kool-Aid.

Whereas Terrion had the most man to man coverage snaps in the league.

I feel pretty confident that TA will grow into being a number 1CB. Just not certain that’s by next year.

And Quinyon will have the narrative on his side for a while from being involved in more high leverage games/plays.

And Terrion won’t be Quinyon’s current age until the 2026 season.

Not worried about TA at all

He showed a lot of growth year 1 and he was out there mano y mano most the time

Who you gonna trust?
Brad and Dan, or some keyboard flunky?
When these “journalists” take a team to it’s second division title and 3rd winning season consecutively, I might think about clicking their drivel.
