Hi, Lions fans! A battle of 3 win teams in the California East Bay Area, as our 3-3-1 Detroit Lions visit and play the Oakland Raiders in their first regular season road game in Oakland in 8 years.
Raiders though are playing their first regular season home game in Oakland for the first time since September 15, and hosting the first of three consecutive home games in as many weeks, starting with our Lions.
Detroit has a current five-game regular season winning streak over Oakland entering Sunday’s late afternoon game., and have not lost to the Raiders during the regular season, since the Raiders defeated our Lions in the Raiders first season back to Oakland from L.A., by the score of 37-21 back on October 13, 1996.
Great Sunday afternoon weather in California, for the 4:05 PM, kickoff from the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum , because the local gamecast is sunny skies at 70 degrees, 0% precipitation, 35% humidity, and western winds at 8 miles per hour.
Lead Referee Shaun Hochuli leads his NFL officiating crew, to supervise the live field action, between the Lions and Raiders.
NO injuries to both the Lions and Raiders players, but let’s see our Lions overcome and leave the Raiders, ‘Black Hole.’ and win both the fourth win and go above .500 in the 2019 regular season record.
Be absent from todays thread. Family function and going into the bubble and watch it tonight. The family event? My mother turns 100. God, I pray not to have her genes.
Awesome Syd
100 is incredibly special
And you are incredibly blessed to have her around
(My wife and I both wish my mom was around – our girls would have benefited so much)
Its going to be a tough one today. I not only wish for the win, but I also wish that we can escape without any injuries. I watched another Oakland game, and that field is basically a sheet of rock.
I feel that I’m going to be in a grumpy mood today. Quinn’s chances and misses at properly filling our RB needs this week has me in a foul mood.
Hoping the Defense can get their heads out of their ass this week and can actually stop the opposition from marching down the field and scoring on each and every series. LOL…Yeah right.
So I guess it’ll all be on Stafford again, since we literally have no running game and nobody up in management seems to care. Gotta keep those 5th rounds picks for the big move in the draft…next year.
Good luck Stafford, hope you make it out of there alive.
As always a must-win for a Lions team that toes the line just enough to make ya watch em.
I mean, I guess its well enough that their weakness, the D backfield, plays to pretty much our only clear strength: Stafford and our WRs. But then, they have the same dynamic going with Jacobs.-? My only hope is that Hand presents the difference that he seems to have last week, and Slay presents the difference in the D backfield that we didn’t have last week.
That’s a lotta ‘ifs’. But this is a winnable game. Copy and paste last week’s plan, keep it too close at the end - then flip a coin.
I honestly don’t know what to expect from this team. Stafford will have to play lights out to win. Would just like for the defense to dominate a game or maybe we run for 200 yards.
