I have little concern about us finding a dirty work X in the draft if it comes to that.
I’ll be giddy if TP is back. Left the draft fall where it may.
This is false , he was offered long term deals he took the short term with the Lions, he is betting on himself again.
Or even after cuts, like we did with Reynolds and Patrick. Everyone is always worried, then Brad finds a solution everyone loves by the end of the year. It’s not a hard position to replace, especially if we’re going the sacrificial X route as we have of late.
At the right price I certainly agree. He impressed me last year.
Yeah that’s my favorite part , is these guys having another year together . DJ should fit right in. This secondary was pretty good and should take a step forward.
“We’re never gonna survive without D.J. Chark!”
“We’re never gonna survive without Josh Reynolds!”
“We’re never gonna survive without Tim Patrick!”
Obviously, some hyperbole, but it’s the same bellowing about a 5th target in the passing game every offseason. Who cares? Put a UDFA in there as long as he can block downfield.
Screw it, line up with 10.
We’re never gonna survive without Touchdown Tom ■■■■■■■ Kennedy baby!
Maybe you have some info that I don’t.
Let me get this straight.
So Levi turned down multiple long term deals,
to take a short term cheap deal with Lions,
to bet on himself,
to get a long term deal,
that you’re saying he turned down.
Yeah read it I put a topic up on it. I don’t think the offers were what he wanted money wise so he took another prove it deal and can try again next season.
This is a fan website from another team that makes a statement that seems like an assumption with nothing to substantiate the claim.
Virtually all the local beat writers and national insiders mention the injury as the most likely reason for the small contract.
Also, it makes no sense to turn down a long term deal for a cheap short term deal.
Doesn’t really matter to me.
I’m happy Levi is back at a reasonable cost.
It makes a lot of sense , if someone offer you a multi year deal yet the money isn’t good you take a short term deal with Lions knowing Mac is out and you will get to prove your self in a system you know well. If he matches how he played last year with no injury he is more likely to get a bigger offer.
I guess if someone offered a dirt cheap long term deal.
But it would be hard to get less than $5.5M.
And that may be the max value of Levi’s deal.
The real number could be less.
The bigger point was that there have been no reports of any long term offers.
That makes sense because of the concern with the spinal fusion.
Levi wants to be a Lion!
Making me eat my words every step.
You know what? I think he just became my favorite Lion.
Been so long since I’ve seen it, but, I think that’s what “honor” looks like in practice?
Nothing but humility and gratitude with him. Was really cool to see, actually. Grateful for a 2nd contract, even thought it’s just the 1 year deal that it is. That’s not normal.
