One hundred percent yes. I fully admit, I wasn’t sure on him when we signed him. The only thing I really saw was that it seemed like he gave up a lot of the catches when we played the Raiders in 2023. I figured if the coaches liked him enough to sign him, they saw things they liked. I thought he did well for us in 2024 but once Carlton Davis went out, he really saved the back end of the defense. I still believe if Amik doesn’t get his arm broken in the Washington game, we win that game. It would’ve been a fight, but we can win shootouts. We can’t win when the other team can do anything they want and it works.
I loved seeing him and Reed on the outside and what they were both doing. It sucked watching Reed get hurt, thankfully he will be back before the playoffs. I think Amik, Reed and Arnold make a very good back end. With Reed out, Arnold again is going to have to grow up quick.

Definitely a steal and I’m hoping he’s starts some on the outside this week.
Amik is a huge luxury - and one I’m happy to have. He can play nickel and get 50% of the defensive snaps, or play outside CB and not come off the field - or anything in between. He’s a dream piece in the secondary because of his versatility and demeanor. Hard to think of a more “grit” guy than Amik.
Curious how his contract will work in the offseason. My guess is he gets paid too much for Brad to match. The Lions are committed to Reed and Arnold as full time starters at CB, and they also have Rake who the staff clearly loved. I feel like there’s a chance Amik might be looking for more money and a full time starting opportunity in FA. We’ll see and I hope he’s signed long term in the offseason but I could see why he might look elsewhere
