Lions select DB Keith Abney at 157

What did we trade ?

Maybe Kilgore? Still good options available.

Gone

Love what I’m reading.

Prolly fell because he’s under 5’10ā€, under 190 lbs.

Oh yeah I watched that one a while back

Well he should post his board here before the draft. That’s how you get ā€œCredā€

That’s what the Big Dawgs do…like this. Then the whole world knows how good you are.
If you don’t publish before the draft it is easy to call out when you make good calls but also easy to just ignore your misses.

I follow Drew Boylhart because the dude puts it out there and is usually in the ballpark
He even called out Red Flags on Titus Young before the draft and said he was talented as heck but a huge gamble to take.

The guy was rated a 2nd rd pic for most of the pre draft. Awesome value here

I am not, nor would I ever claim to be, a Big Dawg. I’m just some dummy on the internet.

Well I respect the effort. You put in way more time than I ever could if you build out a board.
And even the ā€œBig Dawgsā€ miss a lot.

I am not even sure how to take this comment

Because maybe we should really be thankful BH is in charge :joy::joy::smiling_face_with_horns::winking_face_with_tongue::wink::man_shrugging:

Ha, but of course. And for the record, despite having him ranked that high personally, I never thought he’d go that high. I DID expect him to come off the board in that late 2nd-mid 3rd area though.

I love this pick. I can already envision him as an ā€œAmikā€ like feisty, undersized CB who can play inside and out.

He’s not nearly as small as Amik either. I keep seeing that as a comp, but that was more like Ponds. Abney is just a regular ā€œsmallā€ guy for a small CB, not an outlier like those guys.

He looks like a poor man’s Ponds, doesn’t he?

I think there’s a world where he can become Amik like. NFL’s comparison to him was Taron Johnson and if he’s able to become near that he’ll be a good pick.

He’s not nearly as athletic as Ponds. Not a bad athlete by any means, but Ponds had elite juice while Abney’s is the reason he fell. Big difference. But yes, they’re both scrappy fighters, chirpy, have ultimate belief in themselves, and Abney is probably better at making plays on the ball/playmaking.
