Lions sign 4 draft picks and 10 UDFA's

Seems like a super good dude. Will be easy to root for.

IMO with Meeks his super power is the grip strength on catches on the periphery of his catch radius. Honestly it’s kind of Tee Higgins like. Not that he’s anywhere near that level of player nor is he anywhere near as long. But I do think Meeks could be a useful possession/red zone guy if we can sneak him onto the PS and he can develop a bit more.

Do we have a new Leader of the Hidden Village of the D?

And for all that Meeks ran poorly, his ten-yard split was quite a bit faster than Tee’s (39th% vs 16th%), his 20 was the same, his blocking’s substantially better and his hands are at least as good (bigger too). Tee’s got the freakish length on him and better long speed, but they ARE in similar buckets as prospects imo. There’s a reason Meeks was at Georgia for a few years.

Once Patrick’s gone having TeSlaa shift into his role with Meeks as his backup could work for sure. In fact I could see Meeks and Patrick’s paths being pretty similar.

Anime jokes! I love it.

And Tee avoided the 3 cone which Meeks did quite well. I don’t think they’re really comparable players. But just the way Meeks snatches the ball away from his body I find to be incredibly impressive and should theoretically come in okay in tight quarters if given the chance.

As I think you remember I brought him up in like late January-early February as another one of the WRs setting lost in the shuffle. Not surprised that he wasn’t drafted after his workouts but he has some potential to hang around the league for a bit.

I remember, it was when he flashed at the Shrine Bowl. And of course you already knew about him from his recruiting days, whereas I only knew he was some dude who had one good year at Syracuse. Didn’t know he’d even been at Georgia 'til I started to do some digging. Or maybe you told me.

I think Meeks’s lack of long speed probably keeps him from being too Tee-esque, he might be a pure possession receiver whereas Tee actually gets more athletic the further down the field he goes. So that is a pretty big difference. But a lot of similarities otherwise.

Correct. I see Meeks more as a WR 4 type if it all works out.

Hodgins-ish?

Yeah. That seems about right. Meeks is probably a bit more sudden and Hodgins is bigger but that level of player. Which I guess I value more than the league does. :man_shrugging:

If it all works out, a better Anquan Boldin, but I don’t want to cap him… :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp:
