There goes the road jersey I bought at the beginning of last season. I loved Montgomery. Yes, it is a replaceable position and this allows us to get younger and cheaper long term, but yeah, this sucks.

We’ll miss Montgomery but I’m surprised we got this much. A 4th round, 7th round and a former second round pick? If Scruggs turns it around and we hit on the 4th round pick then this is a great deal.
There are also some good backup running backs in free agency.

The deal is a 4th, 7th, and Scrubbs. Not sure how that is a 5th round value unless its a future 4th.
Either way this is a pretty good deal for a 29 year old power rb.

Why would the Texans trade a “block of granite” for a 29 year old running back?
Also, why was the Texans OL so bad with Laremy Tunsil, Tytus Howard (who just got paid by Cleveland), and Scruggs in 2024?

The wording makes it seems like they get Monty, we get a 4th, 7th and Scruggs.
They’re desperate at RB, so it makes sense.
