Lions 'urged' to trade for No. 2 overall pick Chase Young

Washington called him addition by subtraction. Ouch.

Iā€™d be pretty upset if all this grinding ended up being this dog rear-end humper

I disagree with that.

I think his laundry list of injuries made him the ā€œmediocreā€ player we see today. I have no idea where the effort issues came from, because that was never a problem in college. I wouldnā€™t say he had a Bosa/Hutchinson type motor, but I canā€™t ever remember seeing a play where his effort just looked bad like we see now.

There was a rep against Wisconsin in the first game we played in 2019 where Chase absolutely demonstrates great power. It was on all of his highlight reels. He beat at least two blocks to get a sack including just one dude who he straight ran over.

He mightā€™ve gotten that power with a burstā€¦which Iā€™d argue he may no longer have after the injuries heā€™s dealt with. Keep in mind, he was a good player as a rookie in the NFL before the injuries settled in.

The Washington staff that just got fired for not doing a good enough job?

On the radio in DC, they were laughing that Donte Fowler had more sacks (4) after 5 games than Sweat and Young combined.

Thereā€™s a pretty decent chance the last 3 defensive coordinators Chase has played for got fired after he played for them.

Jack Del Rio/Ron Rivera in Washington
Steve Wilks in San Francisco
The whole coaching staff in New Orleans are on borrowed time

Well Wilks got fired from SF for an entire season of inconsistency on defenseā€¦.Chase wasnā€™t there for the entire season last year!

Right, but I want bodies that have a name I recognize. Name recognition is the most important trait for a trade.
