***Lions Vs. Vikings Game Day Thread***

Hi, Lions Nation! Another NFL Game Day is here. Our 2-2-1 Detroit Lions were upset by the Green Bay Packers after giving up their lead, and eventually losing 23-24 on Monday Night Football, but had to move on to prepare to play their second straight NFC North opponent, as the 4-2 Minnesota Vikings come for another divisional showdown with the Lions to Ford Field.

After six weeks of NFL Regular Season action, our Lions NFL team record is still an even record, starting with a tie, two consecutive wins, then two straight losses, with their Week 5 bye week between their losses.

A sense of urgency is needed as the Lions begin their Week 7 as the Minnesota Vikings come to Ford
Field. Even Head Coach Mike Patricia stated in one of his press conference this game is a ‘must-win’ for the Lions.

Detroit tries to end their four-game regular season losing streak to Minnesota, their last win over the Vikings overall was their 14-7 win at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis back on October 1, 2017.

Detroit also seeks to win their first regular season home win over Minnesota since Matt Prater kicked his game-winning, 40-yard field goal as time expired, as the Lions won 16-13 at Ford Field, on the Thanksgiving Day Game, back on November 24, 2016.

Minnesota though leads the all-time regular season series, which began in 1960, at 74-39-2, in this afternoon’s 116th meeting.

FOX Sports 1 and Big Ten Conference broadcaster Brandon Gaudin and former Lions, Bills, Browns, and Ohio State University linebacker Chris Spielman, announce the live TV game commentary along with sideline reporter and interviewer Shannon Spake , for the NFL On FOX’s early regional doubleheader game, televised in half of the Continental USA, including locally on WJBK FOX Channel 2, live on HD.

Fans will avoid any inclement weather outside Ford Field and Downtown Detroit for the 1:05 PM Eastern Standard Time kickoff, because mostly cloudy skies at 61 degrees is forecast.

Lead Referee Brad Rogers leads his NFL officiating crew to supervise the live game action at Ford Field between the Lions and Vikings.

Both the Lions and Vikings, along with rest of the NFL teams coaching and support staffs, may wear NFL authorized pink apparel and equipment to support the NFL’s annual ‘A Crucial Catch’ campaign throughout October, to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the survivors.

NO injuries, our Lions have the support of their faithful fans at Ford Field. Also let’s see our Lions Defend Their Den, Restore The Roar, and LET’S GO LIONS!!!

This is a must win game for the Lions if they wish to make the playoffs.
At 2-3-1, with 10 games left, they would need to go 8-2 to get to the 10 win mark.
With a Lions loss, and without taking into account any of the other teams results today, the Lions would be so far behind. If the other teams go .500 over the remaining games, then 10 wins would get the Lions in the playoffs. 8-2 is a tough road to travel. They need to win today.

Minny has our number. If cousins is on today we will in trouble. Also most contain cook.

Also score TDs. Got to punch the ball in for 6.

Closest it comes to a must win. Lose and it pretty much ends any hope for the division and a wildcard would also he a tough path. Get it done and it keeps hope alive for another week. That’s all we can ask. Win by 30 or win by 1. I dont care, just get the W.

Sorry, don’t feel it.

The Green Bay loss sucked the enthusiasm out of me. The Kansas City and Green Bay games was the most engaged I’ve been with the Lions since the Dallas playoff debacle. It’s been mostly apathy since then (while still watching and hoping for the best). I’m afraid that the Monday Night loss brought me back there. I’ll be happy with a win but a loss just won’t bother me that much. The life of a Lions fan…

Get it done boys. Need to stay in the hunt

Turnover battle wins this game.

I like our secondary vs. their passing game, but we’ve got to stop Cook inside. Time for Snacks to step up. Same with the OL. Give #9 a shot.

Hand is playing? That would be good news.

Would it surprise you to find out that we’re 5-5 against the Zimmer led Vikings?

Gonna be a tough one coming off road Monday Night. Last week was the one we needed. Hopefully we can hold par at home.

Hand is out, unfortunately.

I’m starting to wonder why they didn’t ir him. The d line has been gassed late in games. Could have used the extra body there.

I think the lions need to run the ball on 2nd down today to be successful on the ground. Bevell has been calling a lot of his runs on 1st down and has been sending Johnson into the teeth of the expecting defense. Sprinkle in some play action on 1st and that should help.

I think the d lets up a few big plays but is solid otherwise.

The lions can win this if they just play a sound game without any bizarre mistakes. That’s been their achilles heel so far this year… decade… century?

My guess?

Vikings 27
Lions 16

My hope?

Vikings 0
Lions 49

Would love to see the team channel the screw job they took on Monday into a dominating effort today.

Let’s Go Lions!
