So there will be a move then
Two, it would seem.
I had a feeling the Lions weren’t too keen on McLaughlin. He had a decent game against the Bengals, but he did not look good against Washington’s backups.
Turns out the answer to why 5 RBs was pretty simple.
He’s still not all the way back from that achilles, I hope he makes the PS somehow (maybe we call someone up).
I’d say that’s fair. It looked like he lacked some strength, I remember one of the OL guys saying he was having trouble anchoring. I know the guard we just signed from Tampa Bay has some Center experience, and I wonder if the Lions call up Mason Miller here?
So whose the backup center then? Ratledge or Millet thats virtually never done it?
Yikes, I remember when some around here were pretty high on McLaughlin taking on the reins. So it’s Scruggs and ??? I guess Ratledge can move over to center in a pinch but then somebody has to cover him at RG. I’m getting similar vibes to last year going into the season with this offensive line although there’s more upside with this group.
Yea tate can slide over, the problem, every guard on the roster is better on the left side. Sure Bartch, Fraizer, even Klein CAN play right guard, they are more comfortable on the left.
As it is right now on the roster, I’d have to go:
Scruggs
Miller
Klein
Tate will only play center in the event of an in game emergency. Campbell has pretty much stated that.
Im guessing Miller And Kennedy get elevated to the 53
Mahogany was viewed by many as better at RG or am i hallucinating that?
Not saying you want to shuffle that much just was thinking if you want to kick ratledge to center and just get it started you have mahogany at rg and lg we have lots of options.
Not something you do right before the season starts or in game and mays shouldnt be out long term.
That would be my guess. For backup center, you ideally don’t want that guy playing a down anyways. However, IF they had to play a backup Center, I am guessing they liked what they saw from Miller (or someone else) better than what they saw from McLaughlin to have to go in against NFL regulars.
They have to bring in another center.
According to Risdon we did it this way so we could move McLaughlin and Smalls to the PS without having to sit them for their injuries? Not sure how that works.

That doesn’t make much sense to me. Both players still have to pass through waivers now, don’t they? My only guess is, they were banking on the idea that someone who would have claimed them from Sunday’s cut down day, lets say Miami since they claimed everyone, now that Miami has claimed who they needed, they won’t try claiming a Center and RB?
I am sure there’s more to it here. We will learn it soon enough.

As simple as simple can be
Idk is Vaki really a RB?
We might only have 2 right now

Also nobody claims them now that rosters are filled

Wouldn’t mind a K Hunt signing
Wouldn’t mind a K Hunt signing
Said it before, and I’ll repeat it. Kareem Hunt fits more for what I think the Lions are looking for, than Isiah Pacheco did. The only plus Pacheco gets is that he is younger. Hunt is a solid pass pro blocker, has a lot of experience including big game experience, he knows how to fall forward and get 3 yards on 3rd and 2 and he knows how to push the pile forward to get goal line TD’s.
I think the biggest issue the Lions have right now is, they are cash strapped. I also think that’s a part of the reason for the roster gymnastics.
