Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown exasperated by Bears' big-money moves: 'They have unlimited money'

According to who?

The rest of the division is trying to play catchup.

The Lions already had a loaded roster that was steamrolling the NFL until injuries mounted. The Lions did a good job of keeping their roster turnover low.

We’re gonna be just fine. We’re young and getting better. The rest of the division knows they have to be aggressive just to catch up.

One thing I find odd from the article shared above about the Bears poor drafting is that the Bears are very talented especially on defense. Eberfus had that defense playing very well. I wonder if that defense takes a major step backwards.

I’m sure Ben will improve that offense but he’s not a miracle worker and that offense Could easily take a step backwards. If they lose Keenan Allen I think that will be a big hit on that offense. He was their best chain mover.

All y’all read my last sentence. I didn’t say they were going to win the North, just that they have made a big improvement.

I think the Bears are a 9 win team as of today

The Lions also got better. WAAAAY better - on the defensive side of the ball, while keeping the top scoring offense in the NFL largely intact. (Bummer about Zeitler leaving; won’t lie.)

Compared to the Lions team we saw the last few games of the season, including the playoffs, the Lions D already will have added:

D.J. Reed
Aidan Hutchinson
Marcus Davenport
Derrick Barnes
Enis Rakestraw
Malcolm Rodriguez
Alim McNeill
Etc.

The fact that almost all these guys were Lions shouldn’t obscure the fact that we didn’t have most of them for most of last season and had none of them come playoff time.

That’s a CRAZY infusion of talent, even w/the reasonable caveats (e.g., Alim might not be ready by game 1 and Davenport might not last past game 1). NO other team is getting nearly that much own talent back.

IDK read a thing today witch is opinion, but it was the 5 teams that helped themselves the most in week one of FAs , it Was Commanders, Bears, ? , Vikings and Rams.
But pretty much agree.

Which is why I say Brad should focus on like just three or four guys in the draft and not bother adding a bunch that won’t make the 53. Trading up as necessary.

I know this is not how he will approach the draft. He’ll have his buckets and go after guys who offer great value with less concern for need or perceived roster weaknesses.

But drafting guys that will inevitably have to clear waivers to get to the practice squad seems like a waste to me with the current talent level. Get us a few studs Brad. Forget the lottery tickets.

@Jman will fight you in the street for saying such things.

They’re in “win now” mode.
They’ll be having a fire sale in two years, and starting a rebuild.

I would hope it was be on his front lawn, doesn’t need to be on any hard surfaces, does it?

Exactly. It’s not brain surgery. Right off the bat they have $55m more to spend than the cowboys or $52m more than the Bills. There are a shit ton of ways you can divide that up amongst contracts.
