Turned on the San Fran Rams game. Guys, it is amazing to watch NORMAL, straight down the center proper coaching. Turn the game on. There is never a time when you think the defense or offensive coordinators are MAKING MISTAKES, it is incredible to see. Yes, you see big plays, good plays and bad, but you actually see THE PLAYERS being the ones who are doing the good and bad in a normal way. Please, turn on the Rams game and pay attention to how the COACHING feels from both teams coordinators. It feels, well, PRPER, NORMAL, NOT BAD, like it is staying out of the on-field game and simply making PROPER, NORMAL DECISIONS. It is startling to see this and how our coordinators and head coach is in a constant battle to stay out of their own way.
No way to explain it better than that, it’s as if the coaching stays in the background and you never feel that feeling of “What the hell is our coach doing here?” They make rock-solid decisions every time and they get out of the way of the players AND THE GAME. Watch and tell me you don’t FEEL the same way.
Dan’s aggressiveness has lead us to more wins. I want him to continue being aggressive, in the right situations. Definitely 2 today I didn’t agree with. Even though we converted 1 of them
I love Dan, but I am mostly talking coordinators, play calls, it like every decision from both staff’s ALLOW THE PLAYERS to decide what is happening on the field. As you watch, it’s like standard to make the proper play calls, and the proper personnel in the best spots that fit their talent, it is amazing to watch. You can literally feel the difference just watching it.
So I really hate the Seahawks. Our games against Carroll led teams have almost all ended in heartbreak one way or another. Its a grudging respect, they always seem to make just enough plays to beat us.
That’s why we draft recievers ad nasuem. We understand what this league is about. Puka, Atwell, Jefferson and then when Kupp comes back. Very solid and underrated reciever room.
in this game, no pass rushers covering slot receivers, no guys in WRONG places, I am not saying they are making GREAT coaching decisions, they are making OBVIOUS coaching decisions. All the talent is placed exactly where it should be, punt when you should put, the players are the ones winning or losing, and you don’t find yourself asking, “What the hell kind of play call is that?” Or, “Why is this guy being asked to do this when it is not what he is suited to do?” It is a perfectly coached game and game plan, and again, perfectly means, JUST DOING what is obvious, just calling a straight up game and putting your players where they should be and staying out of their way.
Are you watching? Have you said, "what the hell is this coordinator thinking,? Notice any players out of position, being asked to do things they are not suited for? Are they refusing to blitz when the other team has backup OL plers in? It is just amazing to watch proper, centerline coaching that stays out of the way and lets their players win or lose the game. Not one call where you say, “wow, horrible decision”
No, because there were times earlier in that game where better coaching would have been even better. Do do know that we had a poor gameplan, Houston trying to cover receivers, no blitzing while the opponent had to OL out, a terrible 4th down decision with the opponent in our territory, WHEN WE HAD THE LEAD!!! YOU DON’T DO THAT when you have the lead, you just don’t.
Face it, our coaching staff HAS TO MATURE, they have to stay out of their own way, they have tp put their players talent in the best spot for it. I don’t know what else to say, if you can’t feel the difference watching this game, then I guess you just don’t. Rams fan here with us, have you had any moments yet where you are going, "What the hell are the coaches doing here? I have yet to see a single ODD or bad coaching decision, no super creative either, the coaches are simply doing what is OBVIOUS, what is normal, and the actual players will decide the win or the loss. To me, the difference is like night and day.
We put up with Dan’s negatives because he brings more positives than negatives. That is unless he refuses to let go of his friends. This is already an issue for me and I feel my blood pressure rising watching Houston drop into coverage over and over again. I mean nobody is this stupid.
Yep/ I LOVE DAN as our coach. All this is is that he has to mature and understand that he has to just do what is obvious, stay out of the game, put his players in the right places, let them dicide the damn game. At KC, first rin by DM, EIGHT YARDS, what should you do on 2nd down? You RUN THE DAMN BALL AGAIN!!! You get the first, then if you want on the next first down you can go with a pass. Seven-yard pass on first down, what do you do on 2nd down again when you have a great OL? YOU RUN THE DAMN BALL AGAIN. If you don’t get it, now you have 3rd and short and can run OR try a short pass for the next first. I am just talking about making the OBVIOUS CALLS!!!
What do you gameplan tio do when the opponent has two OL guys out, you gameplan to send extra rushers, you know the opponent will try to get rid of the ball quick, what do you do, you play tighter so that he has a tough time having open guys as soon as the ball is hiked.
So yeah, I am just saying Dan and these coordinators MUST MATURE and do it fast. Lady Ford should sit them down and have them watch this game and say, "can’t you see how normal and down the center these coaches are. They are staying out of the players way.
I know what I don’t know which impedes some of my potential criticism. I thought we’d win big on the edges. I think our staff thought so as well. Both the staff and I were very, very wrong. We were absolutely out-coached and out-played. Those two are almost always linked IMO.
Can’t rush the passer and can’t cover is a tough way to get through a passing league. Need to fix it ASAP.
Agreed. It’s fine to allow the players to just do their thing. the Rams or the 49ers will LOSE, but it won’t be because the coaches GOT IN THEIR WAY. So, this is about coaching maturity. NO WAY would I want rid of Dan Cambell, he will be a great coach, but he simply MUST grow into just doing what is obvious. He must make proper gameplans. It’s like AG is coaching a week in the past. You get the feeling he wants zone now, yet late last year the D was a part of winning 8 of 10.
There is no way around it, when we had the lead and in our own territory, YOU DO NOT GO FOR IT. Yes, it will work SOMETIMES, but over a season it will bite you in the ass more like it did today. Dan, JUST DO WHAT IS NORMAL AND OBVIOUS.
Some here have been watching this Ram game since the first post in this thread, seen any “WHAT THE HELL is this coordinator thinking?” “Why are we passing after getting 7 yards on a first-down run?”
The fact that you think you can “humble” Lions fans means you are ignorant as to what a Lions fan is. Its a dumb statement…if you haven’t picked up on what I am saying.
