Exactly! Why are some wanting to throw away a great future for a possible SB now? The Rams did that a couple years ago and they are getting ready to have to reset and rebuild. I truly think we are going back to the NFCCG with a great chance to go to the SB but even if we don’t we have most of our core players locked up. We will have our draft picks in place. We WONT be in cap hell and we can keep building. I don’t want to follow the Rams formula that to me is stupid. I love that we are building for continued success like KC. I want to know we are the conference favorites for years to come. Tooooo many fans seem to want 1 and done. Then gripe cuz that was it.
If you look at that Rams roster then and ours now, it will be clear they are very differently composed.
What part of the rumor “fu ck off” when people asked about maxx was not believable? Brad would never trade Hutch…
mark davis is a stupid head
The rumors never came from anywhere reputable.
Mark Davis said it wasn’t happening. None of the insiders said it had a chance of happening. Crosby said one ambiguous word that set off all the rumor mongers, and then later passionately said he wanted to remain a Raider. None of the proper Lions or Raiders beat writers reported even a word about this potentially happening.
When the deadline passes, the disappointment and frustration among Lions fans (and hate towards Brad or the organization as a whole) will have been almost entirely created by people with no credentials using Lions fans for attention and clicks by stirring the Maxx Crosby pot. Some fans will believe forever that a deal could have been done but that Brad didn’t have the balls to pull the trigger. Let’s be smarter next time.
My new Trade package for Mark Davis
Mark Davis when he was younger.
I admire your faith!
Isn’t the internet grand?
I hope Mahomes and the Chiefs beat the Raiders 50-0.
Just to show Maxx & Mark Davis that this season is over and to encourage a further dismantling.
I still think Davis hangs on to Maxx because he is the face of the Franchise and the only thing left to market.
The fact Brad couldnt get this done is a blemish on his permanent record, a blemish I say!!
If I was Cleveland I would ask for a 2nd rd pick at this point.
There is no point to selling cheap now.
They are going to hold out until the deadline to try to get a bidding war going and hope someone caves.
Smith is the best True Big End available.
The others are SamLB types.
Well this is a fabrication , why is it one and done ? And the purpose of playing is the Superbowl, you can be there every year and not win ask the Bills and Jim Kelly. Guys just wanting to go to the dance every year without winning is no better then pushing the chips in and losing. Some act like we already won the superbowl, it might be smart to win one already before you start claiming Dynasty.
We’ve seen several different approaches to making a SB run. The Rams traded picks and acquired high level veteran players and won it all a couple years ago. They are now looking to start rebuilding. The Chiefs seem to value their picks and acquire FAs for specific roles and they develop mainly through the draft and they are going for a three-peat this year and have been in 4 of the last 5 SBs. I can’t speak for others but I would much rather build a sustainable team that competes for championships every year then mortgage then mortgage the future for maybe one.
Lol so what makes signing someone or trading top pics stop that, we already have our core. And if we lose Goff by chance all that saving shit up goes out the window. You act like the chiefs are not trying to win , they have made plenty of trades trying to get back there.
Making a trade for a high profile pass rusher isn’t a mortgaging the future. Even the rams, that got labeled that way made moves over the course of years… it wasn’t just all in for 1 season… and they intended to keep obj and miller but miller took more money and obj got hurt.
I know the trade won’t happen… but Crosby is in the prime of his career. He’d give us an elite defender for years. I’d easily spend multiple picks for a player like that. The chances that even 2 different late first make the impact that Crosby does is low.
Not sure what you see that makes you think I said the Chiefs are not trying to win. I simply stated they were building their team without relying on big splash signings. They have made trades. They have just been smart about who and how much. We still have important players to sign. Hutch is coming due as is LaPorta and many others. Players I would consider core players.
Yup
