Matt Eberflus: "I liked what we did there. I think we handled it the right way."

I cannot make this up. In Eberflus’s has to be last post game address, he literally said he liked what the did to end the game, and that he thinks they handled it the right way. It just didn’t work out like they wanted it to.

Instant fired. Even for the Bears.

Clearly he wants to be fired

Yeah. He’s losing his job. You gotta admit it was a mistake

Dumbass.

Asking for a friend, how many times has a team beat another team with two different head coaches in the same year?

Coaching cost him that game.

Sure you can blame execution on the players but a little smarter decisions and better execution and you could have easily tied.

With that said Dan himself has cost the Lions a few games. Sometimes there’s a bigger picture and fans and the media don’t always see it. Not every decision is a fireable offense. Even if it costs you a game.

On one side Eberfus has done enough to be fired on the other side he just took two of the best teams in the NFC down to the wire in back to back weeks.

I’d give him more time. What’s it hurt you to let him coach a few more games.

Bro had the chance to own it but doubled down on it. I thought before the season that poles and Eberflus may be safe after getting to draft Caleb Williams. Matt trying hard to prove me wrong though

I would give him another year or two.

Green bay and Vikings fans are pissed off at Chicago coach :joy:

This is the difference between Eberflus and Campbell. If Campbell did this, the first thing he would do is say “I ■■■■■■ this up and I hate it for my players.”

Eberflus is a C-L-O-W-N.

Isn’t it odd. Last week 3 weeks he has managed to piss of all 4 division fan bases.

Doesn’t hurt me at all. I hope he’s still head coach for the next game.
And, I hope they fire him in the off-season. Ruin another QB.

He has pissed off the worst fan base 6 straight times.

He should have been honored with a turkey leg!

The decision to justify and rationalize a bad decision, instead of being responsible and owning it, THAT is the fireable offense.

Remember, during the Washington game the play before the Hail Mary. Eberflus intentionally chose to not guard the sidelines and gift Washington an easy completion to move closer for the last play. When asked why he didn’t bother defending it, Eberflus said “those yards didn’t matter.” Yes, they actually did!

Now you have the play from today. Even if Williams was at fault for taking the sack and then trying to huddle up, as the HC you have to see something is wrong and use the TO. Eberflus is saying “yes, that was all according to plan. We just didn’t get the result.” Dude, if you want to know why you keep not getting the right results, it’s because the plan you have is complete ass.

Bears can keep him all season, and even as a Bears hater, Matt Eberflus is guilty of negligence at best and deriliction of duty at worst. Either way, when a 13 year old Madden player at home can manage a clock better than the NFL guy, you’ve got the wrong guy.

Exactly he was the mvp for the Lions

I will say the Bears have talent. They lose every game by a couple points on crazy plays. With better coaching and an improved Caleb, they could be a problem. I sure hope not, but they are a few plays away from being 7 and 4

He had a plan.
The plan failed with the sack.
Admit defeat (burn the timeout), regroup and try a different approach.

I think coaches are so beholden to how they prepped that they’re unable to react appropriately to what’s unfolding in front of them.

Caleb has so much potential… He escaped pressure and made a lot of plays today. He also made some bone-headed, rookie mistakes. If he develops the mental side of his game, he’s going to be trouble for a long time.

So the plan did not involve blocking Za’Darius Smith?
