Finally some new blood for our picks. Not sure I love Wilson to us in the 2nd, but I’ve thought this whole process that he was way undervalued. He’ll probably have the highest RAS for a C ever.
And of course I love Harmon in the 1st.

I like the Harmon pick , but in the 2nd in his mock Landon Jackson is still on the board.
Depending on who we bring back and any possible FA targets, I would be tempted to take Jackson then go OL in the 3rd with our comp pick (depending on who is still on the board)
What is your take on Jackson? He seems to be a BH type of guy and from what I have read is decent in run defense and holding the edge
Edit: I honestly don’t see Jackson lasting until our 2nd rd pick, but if he was???
I am down on Jackson as a 1st rounder, but if you told me we got him in the 2nd I’d be pretty happy with that. He definitely fits us, I just think he can be a little slow-footed at times, and he doesn’t seem to realize it lol.
He had an awful 1st day at the Senior Bowl because he was trying to show out as an athlete that he’s not. Someone must have gotten in his ear because after that he really started to kick ass doing what he does best - combine upper body strength with excellent hand usage. Culminating in a huge game.
My biggest concern with us specifically is that he constantly, constantly loses contain. You think we have problems with mobile QBs now? Jackson will make it worse, even if he does help us immensely re: getting to the passer and setting an edge, etc… I’d be somewhat surprised if he makes it all the way to our 2nd pick, but wouldn’t be surprised at all if he went in the 2nd.
That said you know Brad, he’s gonna do what he’s gonna do. If he falls in love with a center (and to me, having Brad fall in love with you is the #1 requirement for getting drafted by us), then by damn that’s who he’s taking. And Wilson is a really intriguing prospect. Like I said he’s gonna break all the testing records for a C. His name will start to get hot after that.
Nice to see Graham and Will Johnson both Top 5
Jeanty to Jim Harbaugh that would be sweet too.
We are in such a great spot for 2 DL 1 at the end of round 1 and then trade up in round 2 to grab another.
Estatic for that.
Or a CB and a S
Or a WR and a iDL
Or a OL and an Edge
Or a iDL and an CB
Don’t you dare paint our Brad into a corner.
The strength of the draft from 25-60 is obviously DLine.
Saw that too. If Glasgow is still here there is no urgency at C. GBN has Wilson #1 Center and DraftBuzz has him as a 7th round pick, it doesn’t get any more confusing than that.
Add in Walter…
4. Jared Wilson*, C, Georgia
Height: 6-3. Weight: 310.
Projected 40 Time: 5.35.
Projected Round (2025): 3-5.
Not seeing this guy as a 2nd round pick. Alex Mack had a 8.33 RAS and Tyler Linderbaum was higher at 8.88 I believe. There are some positions where RAS isn’t an end all indicator. The one thing they both had in common was the 3 cone, a 9.9 and a 10. If Wilsons 40 time is anywhere close to where he is projected I’m not holding my breath for some off the chart RAS.
We have bigger fish to fry and Wilson wouldn’t play over Glasgow. Big time pass.
Agreed, but that doesn’t mean it’s where he’ll go. It was supposed to be a bad DT class in 2021 and yet he took 2 with his first 3 picks. It was a loaded WR class and yet we waited it out until the 4th.
I don’t think we need to go C either, but I do think Wilson eventually ends up in the 2nd, and not just for the testing. The ceiling’s sky high. He’s only started one year and he’s still very young, but the mirroring in pass protection is preternatural. He’s just a natural. And he’s got a much stronger anchor that you would think for someone so athletic. Plays with that nasty streak we all love too. Big enough to deputize at guard as well.
He’s just raw. We’d actually be a good place for him to sit and learn behind Frank, but again, I don’t think we need to put so many resources into it.
What’s going on with Malachi Starks? I thought the top five talk was a bit silly but I’ve now seen several mocks in which he’s going around pick 30 +- five picks.
Personally that’s who I would take in that scenario. 10.65 100 in HS. Extremely versatile. Play him as the WILL/slot/3rd safety.
Pearce would also be super tempting. I do acknowledge that he’s not really our type of EDGE but if you told me that you came from 2032 and the best player in this draft ended up being James Pearce I would believe you. Not that I expect it but it’s not some implausible moonshot either.
Until someone can prove to me that he’s not actually Charlie Villanueva I’m out on Jackson.
This is diseasist
In the games I watched this year Pearce was really improved against the run. In fact I’d say he might be the best of the “smaller” edges. Him or Carter I guess, though he may be in the 260s by this point. So I’m not as out on him as I was before. However I also think because of his run game improvement he comes of the board at the back part of the top ten or in the teens. LOTS of teams with edge needs in there.
Starks had a really bad year this year. He was sort of played out of position, but even Georgia fans who loved him were like, what was up with him? So basically we know he can’t play nickel now, which does hurt his profile a little. It’s an overreaction - especially for a secondary player - but I get the drop. Still hard to see him getting past the early 20s though.
Good point. But we also had a depleted roster with no talent.
We were rebuilding from the trenches up , that was priority.
Kind of came full circle 4 years later now
Our 2 starts coming off season ending injury
Levi UFA
Paschal nada so far
Yeah, we’ll be going back and forth on this for months lol. And I’m not saying we don’t need help in the trenches, we do. I’m just open to more things happening. Like ARSB says, it’s about the players. If the best players aren’t in the trenches… You can’t force a solution if one isn’t there.
But the best players are in the trenches
That’s what I’m saying
I would say there are MORE good players in the trenches, not that the best ones are there (I mean the OT class is kinda crap). Many of the best players will be at other spots, like Will Johnson or Tyler Warren. There’s just not as many of them. But I certainly wouldn’t put it past Brad finding one.
I always thought Winston when healthy was a better safety than Starks. But Starks solves me team speed concerns and while you may not want him to be a full time nickel there are certainly reps earlier this year in which he shines in coverage.
Georgia’s defense is just weird, man. Especially up front but Kirby has a real talent for getting underperformance from blue chip defenders.
What does that have to do with picks 25-60? Those guys will be gone by then.
Revel drops to mid second, im taking Harmon he’s my favorite ATM. Just fits spot wise and player wise to me. Then I would definitely move up and take Revel in that situtaion
