Matt Miller 2-Round Post Senior Bowl Mock

It’s weird too… underperformance individually, but as a unit they’ve had some stifling games. Especially from like, 2021-2023.

I still have Winston as my #1 safety, but can admit that’s because he’s more of what we need than Starks is. And now he’s a super steal, I thought he’d take at least a 1st rounder back in the summer.

My point is there will be others. Like Revel, or Tory Horton, or whoever. There are other great players available throughout the draft - and yes, through picks 25-60 - than just trench players. There might just be MORE trench players. But there also might be more RBs and TEs, those are great classes too.

And if Brad falls in love with a guy who’s not a trench player, forget about it. That’s our pick. That’s the #1 requirement for a guy to be drafted by us - Brad falling in love.

Agreed. The team defensive performance doesn’t necessarily suffer and that’s what Kirby cares about.

Revel vs Harmon is one I agonize over when faced with that decision in the sims. I love them both, and while Harmon’s the bigger need, I think Revel might be the more special specimens. I go about 50/50 choosing one or the other.

But in @CuriousHusker’s hypothetical the other day Harmon wasn’t available, so Revel was the easy pick for me.

This makes too much sense…Evan Brown

" Brown, 29, started all 17 games in 2024, and played an immense 1,070 snaps. He was the model of both consistency and solidity, holding down the left guard position for the duration of the season . In that vast number of snaps, the veteran allowed just two sacks and 20 QB pressures. He also committed only one penalty."

He’s your LG or backup C.

BTW his RAS was 9.34

Then like me you would love to get both wouldn’t you ? Did you see were he went in that draft, I would trade up to 47 for him , and maybe Scourton at 54 also. I like the way this draft fell

Yeah Brads is a tuff one , you can’t go best player because Brads best player is different then most, you can’t go need because Brad will draft his player over need also.

They already let him go though :man_shrugging:. And had plenty of opportunity to bring him back before he signed with Arizona. It just seems they’re not as high on him.

Which is a good thing. Drafting the best players, over the long haul, will leave your roster much healthier. Reaching for need is a great way to draft busts.

Yeah, I saw that. Would love to trade up in that scenario. I would just be very, very surprised if Revel lasted that long. He’s too singular of a prospect. He could, who knows, maybe he’s a dummy or something, but outside of that or the injury being worse than we think (everything I hear is a clean torn ACL), I don’t see how he falls.

I’m good for one dude coming off season ending injury. 2 is pushing it lol

100% , that’s why the Job is so hard, it’s a win now league, but reaching will kill you and waiting can kill u too.

Hated to see him go

Would love to have him back but he wants to start

They’re just examples, you know what I mean lol.

Like at 60 Brad may have Landon Jackson, Sawyer, TJ Sanders and Peebles all with similar grades, but he may also have Kevin Winston graded higher. There are more trench players, but there are still good players at other positions.

LG is open.

Yeah I agree it won’t happen , but if it did happy days. I’m my book that would be a win draft after 2 picks.

True this would be a great signing…he’s a better pass protector than run blocker.

Similar to Kayode when he was in at LG for us the past 2 season (but Brown is obviously better).

Evan Brown vs Glasgow for LG
……The other is the 6th man C/G

He might be due for a pay raise again but I don’t think his contract even qualifies for the comp pick formula, so even better!

Opens a roster spot too because we wouldn’t need Kayode or Niese on the roster now.

I would rather have Brown than Glasgow as well, but we’ve had so many chances to bring him back and haven’t. It just seems like we’re not that interested. Maybe we just prefer our OGs to be bigger. He was 6’2 302 at the combine.

So you agree then, that the strength from 25-60 is trenches.

Good, glad we had this talk

I do.

But that’s different from “the best players are in the trenches,” which was your original statement. I don’t agree with that part. :smirk:
