Well I’m not a Goff freak….in fact some have labeled me a first ballot Stafford slappy. I’m not that either in my mind but I digress. I took my stance on this and the reason I took that position is I feel Stafford should appreciate Brad and Dan A LOT MORE than what he expressed. He asked to be traded because he didn’t want to be a part of another rebuild, which is TOTALLY understandable. That said, they accommodated him and gave him his wish, he’s traded to a playoff team and he wins a Super Bowl immediately. Fans here LOVED HIM on the level of Barry and Calvin…well half the fans did. A lot of fans was rooting for him to win the Super Bowl, i;e THE DETROIT RAMS. In my opinion he could AT LEAST be happy for the Detroit Lions fans and the city that he claims to love so much. He can show a lil appreciation for Brad and Dan not being stubborn and hanging on to him knowing that the rebuild would not have happened as fast as it did with him still being on the team. The trade worked for BOTH TEAMS. The Lions didn’t win the Super Bowl and I understand his competitive nature in not wanting any team but his to win. But man this is the team and city who made you….show some grace here bro!
I never said he was obligated. He said what he said…and I assume he meant it. I have the right to think what he said was a little bit douchebaggish. I still like the guy. He’s super talented. I just wish he would show me, a fan of his, that compliments and well wishes are two way streets. That’s all.
You’re right, you’re not obligated. I’m just curious, what was douchebaggy about an NFL QB saying that as soon as his team was out, he wishes EVERYONE could lose?
Nobody ‘wants’ Hooker to fail, we all want him to be a very reliable Quarterback @ backup because we really need that, beit Hooker or someone else that shines.
I get it. I really do. But honestly, don’t you (and others) think you might be taking it too far? I was a MASSIVE Stafford fan, and still am, but even I moved on. I will always love the guy, and support the guy, but I don’t care if he wins another game for the rest of his career. I hope we whoop him opening.
Also, maybe the guy is just tired of the Detroit Lions questions.
unless he beats out Goff
Of course at back-up. Make sure it’s back-up only.
I also think all of us would be estatic if HH were suddenly better than Goff. That would mean he took profoundly significant steps to improve. Most of us are happy with competent backup who could just not lose us games. If he beats out a multiple Pro Bowl veteran, that’s a good problem to have
But first things first. Let’s see him learn an NFL offense how to read a defense, pick up the blitz and stay healthy
