Yes! You beat me to it bro.
Yes to this too. I’ve beloved this for awhile.

I went back and just looked at the 2018 staff he assembled, a lot of them aren’t even coaching anymore. To my surprise Jim Bob Cooter was the OC that year still, for some reason I forgot that Patricia kept Cooter before Bevell came in the next year.
And speaking of Cooter, he’s now the Colts OC, good luck with AR15
A recent Athletic article had more background on this:
Patricia didn’t know Johnson at all. Bevell had worked with Kevin Rogers on the Vikings. Rogers had worked with Ben at Boston College. Rogers talked to Bevell about Johnson and Bevell recommended Johnson to Patricia.
After the 2018 season, Brian Flores replaced Dolphins head coach Adam Gase, and Flores fired Johnson who had been OQC and then TE coach. But those offenses were bad, and Johnson wasn’t seen as a rising star. Johnson was unemployed for nine months before the Rogers-Bevell-Patricia connection, after Patricia fired OQC coach Brian Picucci. Johnson accepted a six-month contract for $40,000 from the Lions. After the season, Patricia promoted him to tight ends coach and gave him a nice raise.
When Campbell replaced Patricia, he made Johnson his first official hire. As Peabody said, Campbell had worked with Johnson in Miami.
“I knew during that time that he’s a bright coach and a good teacher,” Campbell says. “He was just young.”
Lucky for us. The guy who didn’t do his homework was Flores.
Great info @JerseyJungle - Appreciate that. It all makes sense now.
