This is what I’m not understanding what insight do you need ? You have a timeline that what people go by. You know when he got hurt ? What is this insight you need ?
Bet he’d recover faster if he left off the special sauce.
He did… He looked 350 early in his career. Went from a doughboy rookie to pretty jacked by year 3. He’s still very young that might also help with recovery.
Severity of the tear, pre and post op imagery, medical expertise and insight into his rehab timeline.
I mean any of that is really required to make a factual assessment of timelines. Hell even dr chao isnt cocky enough to speak to timelines with certainty and he has significantly more experience and knowledge on the space.
I equate it to my space, project management, i can say a project will be done by x date but without the requirements being defined and the scope being set i am full of shit just making a statement based in certainty off of nothing more than a high level overview.
I prefer not to say “x will happen by y” without at a minimum understanding the specifics of the situation. Ie was it a full or partial tear, when was the surgery, how was post op? Was there any complications or was there additional damage beyond the acl?
You are pushing this and i will continue to say that without actual insight into the specific injury, not just what was seen on tv and what day of the year it was. Saying he will be out for a specific time frame is nothing more than a dart board throw based on historical injuries that may or may not be similar simply because they had an acl tear.
Hell man there are individuals on this board that see branch go down with a cramp and say “he tore his Achilles he will never be the same, he wont play again till december of next year at the earliest” but hey what more insight did you need to determine it was actually cramps or insert other information. Just saying lets not use personal opinion of a situation that we arent knowledgeable as a factual representation of reality… why is that hard?
We just have no idea on the medicals and you make valid points @barreb101
I do think though because we invested so much money into Alim they are gonna be overly cautious… Even when Alim thinks he’s ready… I bet we add a few more weeks to it. We have 80 mill invested in this guy and he’s still young.
100% i dont expect him back for awhile… its funny because i dont necessarily even disagree when people say the timeframe it is more the level of certainty with which we are saying it that is bugging me.
Again perhaps that comes from my occupation and being held to timelines i quote when i dont have enough information to give a reasonable assessment lol
You’re good brother. I think if Alim was a 35 year old vet sure we might rush him. It’s now or never in that situation. But Alim could be a lion for 5+ more years. Holmes and DC will take care of him. Hopefully by the playoffs Alim is feeling pretty good… But I agree with @Thats2 as well… Alim might not be fully back until 2026. Only time will tell. I aint a doctor nor do I wanna be one. Lol

Honestly in that situation with an acl he might have retired. But another guy who just retired from medicals, commish, is a prime example of what i am referring to. Even the doctors with insight got his return timeline wrong and he wasnt able to come back.
The minute you are held to the specific words you use when telling a customer they will get “x by y” is the minute you reassess how you frame your comments/estimations.
For sure… Brad Holmes himself said we think Comish is back by December last training camp… Retired and never played again… Knee injuries suck
