Miles Frazier back soon?

Good news… Hopefully he is a fast learner. Missing all of training camp for rookie is quite the challenge. Mahogs did it though

My guess is Yode gets the first shot while Frazier gets his legs under him. Still really great news today.

I wonder if this gives us a little insight into what the coaches think of Glasgow at center. I mean it seemed like they tried Tate at center first - GG is taking one for the team, as always, but the Detroit Lions need a legit starting center big time next year.

Good news. Didn’t some think Frazier could play C?

I maybe one of the few but I am feel ok with Awosika at G. He’s played a fair amount and I never notice when he does.

Frazier played RG, LT, LG and RT in college. Center is the only position he didn’t play.

ColoGuard works pretty well.

I’m not sure I necessarily believe moving Glasgow to LG and putting Colon at center is a knock on Glasgow. I think it may be more about what is the better combination for the Oline overall.

Is…..

Glasgow at Center with Awosika LG a better combination

Or is…..

Colon at Center with Glasgow LG a better combination

I have actually been thinking about a full shift to the left of our interior OLine when Frazier is ready if they think Ratledge is ready to make his move to Center.

So Frazier at RG, Ratledge at Center, and Glasgow at LG

I’m sure all these things are being considered by Campbell and they’re just trying to figure out the best combination overall and it not really being a knock on anybody.

Took snaps as backup at center.

He’s a guard or right tackle. There’s some tape of him handling the same stuff td that blew us up last week. Knock is his pass pro is way ahead of his run blocking. He seals and walls off well too.

The issue is that left guard is by far Glasgow’s worst position. He also hates playing it. He is a team guy and will do whatever they need but he’s been pretty open about not wanting to play left guard.

Exactly.

I really don’t see GG playing LG. You think GG is bad at center, watch him play LG, his worst position. It could really get ugly if GG has to play LG.

If there is a shakeup, I think GG would go to RG or the bench.

More than likely Kayode steps in at LG and holds it down until Mahogany is back.

I think Mahogany is back before Frazier is ready to start an NFL game.

Frazier has not had one full contact Snap as a Lion.
No training camp reps, no preseason games, no practice reps.
I have been hoping he would be activated so that the staff could see him in practice and have an understanding of what they had before making moves this offseason.

To think he would be able to start this season in a super competitive playoff race is asking too much. There would have to be a lot of injuries before they got down to Frazier.

Didn’t Mahogs go on IR? Or did he not?

IR is a 4 week minimum stay. Dan indicated that he didn’t think it was a season ending injury.

The point was more about Frazier than Mahogany. I don’t think Frazier can be ready to play before Christmas at the earliest. It would be hard to imagine him being better than vet guards like Kayode before then.

I agree. He’s gonna need at least a month of practice before even considering him to play. And then how does the knee bounce back? He hasn’t practiced in months and months.

Mahogany was moved to IR today.
He has a broken bone. I’d be willing to bet he is done for the season. I know Dan said they hope to get him back, but that’s the same language they used with Hutch before admitting the chances were just above zero for him to come back. They just wanted to leave the door open just in case.

My guess is Mahogany is out for 6-8 weeks, and then will need to get in game shape. I think he is back by the playoffs at best.

I agree in general.

I think Mahogany’s break is very different from Hutch’s. Hutch had a displaced fracture of both bones of his leg that required surgery. It didn’t appear as if Mahogany suffered a displaced fracture and was likely of only one bone and hopefully didn’t require surgery.

I think your timeframe is similar to what I indicated which would bring him back around Christmas at earliest or by the start of the playoffs if healing progresses normally.

Meh, nurses doctors…don’t need them, hell I delivered our last two kids in the master bathroom…and I didn’t even stay at a Holiday Inn express the nights before.

sarcasm but I did really deliver our last two kids at home…

So what did he break? I guess that’s better than tearing an acl.

They didn’t specify. From the video of the injury, I’d guess somewhere in the ankle or lower tibia/fibula.
