They do that for sure, but I think they’ve been doing it for awhile. Those Colts defenses with Manning were built to play with a lead, Belichick used to kill them for it. Conversely some of the more conservative teams built defenses meant to play close games. The Bears under Lovie were like that. A lot of those early aughts Ravens teams.
Cowboys and Niners were built that way. Not sure the Cowboys are really built any way at the moment. Which is lovely of course.

Yeah I suppose, I just personally didn’t expect them to be that explosive on offense last year. Maybe they did.
Seems like DC wants his team to be as multiple and versatile as possible. Have the dudes to be a power offense or speed offense. On defense, getting more beef to stop power teams but also speedsters to lock down the speed teams.
Then I think you can game plan for the opponent and adjust as the season goes on. Everyone claims that Glenn wants a man-downhill defense but had to go for a zone opportunistic one last year because we didn’t have the horses.
Looking at this game in particular, without Ennis, Iffy, Branch, and to a lesser extent Barnes, we lack our back-end enforcers to lock down power like Metcalf. Instead we will have to double him with Kerby roving for INTs. I have a feeling we will leave a lighter box. Last time the Seahawks were missing 2 OTs and their young replacements were better run blockers. The Seahawks are likely going to try and pound it with another backup OT and Kenneth Walker coming back from injury.
