Monty going nowhere if you actually listen
Yea people wanting to trade Monty or convert Teslaa to a TE are missing the big picture. You have to have depth. Both those guys could have a lot more snaps if there’s an injury…..and will get playing time regardless.
He still sounds a bit disgruntled.ill give it one year tops.. we better start off strong if we want to survive the trade deadline
D-Mont, what a class act! I hope he has a good 3-4 great healthy tears left with us. A great human who should retire a Lion for life.
Disagree… as I starting listens to the opening questions by the reporter I didn’t like the guys wording: and DM immediately corrected him on both words.. steal was one that he correctly said was not true that they share toxins…
He is a team player of the highest quality
I think (just my opnion) the Morton hire was not a good fit for him and the team with hyndsigjt
Love that Monty is coming back. All the talk of him leaving made no sense to me.
As for Tesla becoming a TE, I am not sure I see that in the future as well. But I can see him carving a role out to be used as a blocking WR to sprinkle in some playtime. I recall him being a productive and willing blocker… but my recollection isn’t what it used to be. ![]()
I’m not so sure about the tone in his voice when he said “I’m excited”, but if he’s willing to give it a try, then he’s willing to give it a try
I’m a big defender of D-Mo he’s one of my favorite players. I said this before but he’s the guy out of everyone that suprised me the most by just how good of a player he is. I admit I wasn’t happy about drafting Gibbs because I’m not normally a fan of speed backs, but I did want Bijan Robinson and one of the reasons is because I thought D-Mo was just a JW clone. D-Mo blew my mind. He is that good to me.
Petzing’s reputation is being great with running the ball. Gibb’s is generational, but I hope D-Mo stays and he and Gibbs get back on track.
I listened to the interview and the lead question was baited. Monty set him straight. I think Monty laid it out pretty straight. He likes it here, he likes playing with Gibbs, but he wants his fair amount of touches too. I think it’s what we all want. Id be surprised if it really isn’t what Dan wants as well. I got the sense that Monty didnt throw in lock stock and barrel, but he committed to 26. But he’s not ready to be regulated to a part-time backup. And he shouldn’t be.
I agree but wasn’t Brad’s presser discussing Monty’s potential treads after Morton was already fired? I think this coordinator will do wonders for morale and our offense but still think Montgomery has to know he could be a #1 some where
Might sound strange but the best way to get Monty more touches is a better defense. Get stops, play with leads and you can run the ball more.
Hard to run the ball as much when you are falling behind and playing catchup cause your defense can’t stop anyone.
I think I am in the minority in that I thought the issues with D-Mo last year were more Oline related than anything else. Well that and I think ever since his knee injury he has lost some burst. I disagree that he was “slighted” by the play calling.
My only complaint would be that he is a better blocker and on pure passing downs of 8+ yards you should likely be using him. But with that said the little skinny post Gibbs runs would be minimized if you only had Gibbs in when you were going to pass it to him…soooo
.
My solution?
Play them BOTH.
Get the best weapons on the field.

He sounded very ambiguous. As if the excitement could be either to see what the future holds for him or what his agent can figure out.
interesting because I thought D-mo was a bijan without all the splash.
After being surprised with how good he was, yes.
