Honestly, when you look at that pic not only is it hard to believe this ball got intercepted but you wonder how Mahomes and others DIDN’T make the tackle before our guy got in the end zone. Because the ball was caught to the left of this frame into the middle of the field.
Don’t know if Mahomes got blocked or just pulled a Cam Newton “business decision” and phoned it in

Basic rules of QB… put it where it cannot be caught and it wont get intercepted he should have known better.
I was at the game and remember that one. The CB who intercepted it was Johnathan Banks, Slay’s teammate from Mississippi.
I was just joking about Mahomes making the tackle. The way the rules are written and the “gentleman’s agreement” between the players is that if the QB does not make an attempt to chase and tackle the ball carrier…defenders are not allowed to touch him on the play.
I believe the rule was put into place after Warren Sapp lit up a QB who wasn’t going to be a factor in an interception return. Defensive guys used to head hunt QBs on those plays. Thats why you often times see modern QBs act completely disinterested in going after the guy who intercepted the ball. They are coached to do it that way. Just jog off the field and let the other guys handle it.

I don’t know why he didn’t take into account of the curvature of the earth and lunar positioning.
