2025 Draft
1,2,3,4,6,7,7
(traded 3rd to Jets for Manu 2024, Got a 3rd from Jets AG, 5th for Z’Darius)

2026 Draft
1,2,3,3,4,4,4,5,5, 7,7
(3rd from AG Jets, 4th from CD3, 4th from Levi, 5th from Barnes)

No way in hell I’d resign Davenport. We’ve thrown away enough money.
He can go play two games and take up space on someone else’s IR.

I love you man, but if we get a 4th round comp pick for Levi, I will eat a hat. 2 years $9M is what Spotrac’s projecting, and I think that might be high. 2 years $6M would be my guess, or if he takes a 1 year deal maybe $5M max.

I know you and others are projecting him to get more, but I think that’s the Honolulu blue goggles talking. I asked a buddy of mine who’s a diehard Vikings fan what they’d pay for Levi in FA - they’re more desperate for interior DL help than we are, especially at 3T - and his immediate response was who? And he’s no casual fan, he’s all over their subreddit and Purple Pain, a degenerate just like us.

Now some Vikings fan not knowing who he is doesn’t mean football people don’t know, I’m just using it to illustrate how we tend to overrate our own players. I said it last year with Josh and the year before with Chark and Swaggy. Levi is this year’s version (and for the record I always believed Jonah WOULD get paid, though he got a little more than my $15M/year guess).

Other than that I’m fine with the rest. I was advocating 2 years ago to bring Gaines in when he left LA, love that idea. I’d be fine with Brown too but I think that ship has sailed. They let him go and haven’t even come close to bringing him back, and they’ve had 2 or 3 opportunities.

Also the FA CBs always suck, yet another reason why I’d be fine bringing one in early in the draft.

I love you too buddy.

Maybe it’s a 5th instead of 4th.

I see him getting 10mil per year minimum.

26 years old, graded out as the #32 overall DT

Impressive pressure #s inside

He will be coveted

Agree…time to let the other teams be desperate and hopeful

Iffy can go too.

Would gladly swap them out for reliable guys that aren’t as “splashy”

We have Muhammad, now. He fills the role. He’s got the best ability. Availability.
Keep Z and Muhammad (Hutch, Pascal, and Commish). Call it good.

Keep Hutch & Z’Darius

Rebuild the entire Edge/SAM unit this offseason

1 free agent and 2 draft

Or

Make THE TRADE

Max. Trey, Myles

Yeah, I just think it’s wild that these kinds of numbers are being thrown around. I mean, none of the expert sites like Spotrac or OTC are predicting that. I know they’re not always dead on, but the ONLY place I’m hearing these numbers is from Lions fans.

And even though everyone just wants to discount that he basically missed two years with one of the worst injuries an NFL player can have, I don’t, and I don’t think other teams will either. Him being healthy for a couple of years doesn’t change the fact that he’s missed half of his games with an injury many thought he would never recover from. Kudos to him for coming back, but it feels like his career could end with one play.

Also, he’s turning 27 in less than a month.

Fill holes in free agency with solid dependable dudes.

And the let Brad Cook

Amik Robertson?

One aspect I think that may be overlooked is Brads willingness to trade 2026 picks with us likely to net a fair amount of comp picks in 2026. By the time the draft rolls around, Brad would have a good educated guess of how the FA comp picks will shake out.

I would be floored if we did not net a few comp picks from FA. We already are getting a 3rd from AG and we have a good shot at another minority candidate getting hired as a HC or GM next offseason.

We already know he likes to move around after day 1, now he may have some extra ammunition.

I should have put “at the top of the market” as my caveat. There are bargains that can be found.

Exactly if we don’t make a trade for big time DE

Then draft day could be very similar to last year…

Trade up end of round 1 for our guy

Round 2 trade up again for our guy

Then use 2026 picks to replenish our darts

We will have extra 3,4,4/5, 5

Embrace the variance. Which makes it hard on the fans bc the tendency is to focus on how bad ____ sucked last year.

Yeah I suspect if we brought in an Amik-level prospect in FA at DL and said “there, we’ve fixed the problem,” no one would believe it. Last year most thought Amik would be behind both Davis and Arnold while Rakestraw started in the slot. I thought otherwise, but I admit I was surprised when we just put Amik at nickel. Maybe that was by necessity when Rakestraw started suffering all those injuries.

So who’s this year’s Amik?

Elijah Molden as a slot CB? Nate Hobbs? Tre Brown?

Patrick Jones at edge?

Those are the two slot options that I would most prefer. I think Hobbs is pricey despite what PFF says. Brown isn’t that level of tackler but has more juice and is stickier in man.

As to who is this year’s Amik I have no idea. I was surprised that Amik was available for so little last year so I would imagine it’s someone that I’m not currently viewing as a bargain.

As far as bargains go… I’d like to see what CJ Henderson has to offer. Young, big, fast, man corner… They changed to cover 3 and then he got traded… Was he just bad? He went top 10 in the draft for SOME reason…he’s a fringe roster player, but could have some upside if this staff can coach him up

Has he learned to tackle? He was fairly allergic to it at Florida from what I can recall.
