My 2025 Offseason Projection Pre-SB59

When it comes to DTs, Rylie Mills is coming off of a knee injury.

I usually like this sort of young bargain, but man heā€™s already been on four teams. At that point I think you have say heā€™s just not it. And work ethic and tackling questions have dogged him his whole career. He doesnā€™t seem like the type weā€™d bring in.

I wonder how far heā€™ll drop. I thought heā€™d struggle to make it into day 2 even when he was healthy. Now it seems all but assured he wonā€™t.

Mike Hughes

Really good CB when he plays outside

Because of his size they put him at NB most of his career

Got some dawg in him , like Amik

Man you love bringing guys back that this staff has already let go of lol

Reeves Maybin

Glasgow was gone before Brad & MCDC

who else? I never wanted to lose Evan Brown or Mike Hughes

other names are just guys Iā€™m tossing out as cap casualtiesā€¦Ashawn, Jonah

I would welcome Deshon Elliot back too lol

I think JRM is the only one theyā€™ve let go themselves and brought back. And that was only cause Houston gave him a big contract, I think we wanted him back.

Right

Same could be said for Jonah? And Evsn Brown

I think Deshon wanted out regardless of money

Mike Hughes improved his worth, I hope he gets a bag somewhere.

The hardest decision we will have to face internally will be Carleton Davis. He was balling at such a high level before injuryā€¦

But do we pay him? Or develop Rake and roll with Amik who showed major promise outside and is much more affordable for 2025.

My #1 hope for this off season is discarding this 4-2-5 defensive experiment. Most teams with consistently solid defenses deploy 240-255 pound edges, and they are quite a bit easier to stock the shelves with.

Teams like Philly, Buffalo, Baltimore, Washington (especially if they go get a RB), GB, SF, Det have all migrated to more of a run first attack, and many have mobile QBs on top of itā€¦. We need rushers fast enough to set the edge with running QBs and against guys like Barkley. TEs are quickly taking over more work than the WR3 roleā€¦

Iā€™d like to see us stock up the D for the next 3 seasons this yearā€¦

This defense looked just fine before all the injuries and was rated pretty good too. Not sure why you want to change, Dan is all about stoping the run, so I donā€™t see that changing at all. We could use some more speed , I will agree but changing what we do or want to have smaller quicker DEs isnt the answer.

This defense is very hard on DBs though. We had DBs with broken bones from all the tackling lol.

CD3 broken jaw and friendly fire broken arm for Amik

Such bad luck

I just did a PFT draftā€¦. I think this is a year where dropping 10 slots and scooping 3rd is viableā€¦

Ezeiruaku- I think heā€™s a guy who could ā€œunlock a new characterā€ in our Dā€¦

Jayden Higgins or T Horton- I think this move gives us a similar upside on offense in 25ā€™ to what Ezeiruaku does on D. Weā€™ve never really had a legit WR3 option that was a real threat, and these guys could become WR2 hold if Jamo isnā€™t a long term plan?

G Zabel- I could see him as our long term plan at LG, and CM at RG with GG a super sub in 2026 (along with Manu)

E Roberts- he gives can crushing DE vibes in a 4-2, or 5 Tech and even did some wide 9 stuff. 6ā€™3ā€ 290 with solid arm length is intriguing.

JJ Peagues- love him as a backup and eventual replacement for Readerā€¦

T Brooks- I liked others here too! Time to replace Netflix with a guy who could be a pleasant surprise if given snapsā€¦

Riley Leonard- I think there is enough smoke around Hooker to wonder if we actually have a truly viable backup

CB- no clue I defer, but I took Jaylin Smith from USCā€¦

Off-seasonā€¦.

Sign Zietler to a 1 year deal up to 9M ā€¦ plug heā€™s a pro bowler again itā€™s worth it, maybe a 6M floor?

Sign Patrick to a 1 year up to 4M deal, and redo Raymondā€™s deal to save 2M, making Patrick almost free.

Sign AQM to a 1 year 2.5M deal

Sign Iffy to a 1year up to 4M deal

UFA-
Paulson Adebo- 3 years 36M
Mike Hilton- 1 year 5M
T Dodson- 3 years 16M
BJ Hill- 2 years 16M

Hutch/Z
McNeill/BJ Hill/Wingo
Reader/Pegues
E Roberts/Paschal

Ezieruaku/AQM

AA/Dodson
Campbell/Ridrigo

Hilton/Rake

Adebo/Robertson

Arnold

Branch/Iffy

Kerby

  • or we move to more 3-4 looks

5T E Roberts/Paschal

NT Reader/Pegues

DT Hill/McNeill ( to start year)/Wingo

Edge Hutch/Z Smith

ILB- AA/Dodson

MLB- Campbell/Ridrigo

SLB- Ezieruaku/AQM

CB- Arnold/Rake

CB- Adebo/Robertson

FS- Kerby

SS- Branch/Iffy

This sums up our season more than anything else. Brad put together an excellent defensive unit, one capable of winning a Super Bowl. We just had shit luck.

He doesnā€™t really have a choice now, do it or get cutā€¦ At Florida he was the man.

Do you know what the C.J. stands for? If itā€™s Christopher Joseph of something then Iā€™m out.

However, if weā€™re talking about a Chantiquous Jordeaz Henderson then Iā€™m intrigued by his potential.

I take a Key and Peele approach to roster management.

The first name is Christopher, I know that much at least. Where would you fall on a Christopher Jordeaz Henderson?

Keegan-Michael Key Is a Lions fan. If he believes that makes the cut then Iā€™ll rally behind the move.

I have this vague memory of some of the quips about his tacking during the college writeups being amusing. Very colorful ways of describing his tackling allergy.
