Need help with picking Tigers tickets

So, I have a dilemma, sort of…

We’re going up to Toledo from the 24th to the 28th to go visit my grandparents and other family, which means we can make the short drive up to Detroit to go watch the Tigers while they’re in town…like we’ve done before.

Of course, with as good as we’ve been this season, I’m exploring how it could be possible to get up there more than once. Especially since we haven’t even been to Comerica since 2022.

My dad and I have been talking about wanting to go whenever Skubal pitches, for obvious reasons. We hoped that it was going to be one of the two day games we’re going to be up there for so we could bring the whole family, but that seems unlikely now. It looks like he’s going to pitch that Tuesday against the A’s. My dad and I don’t have a problem going to that game (or the game on Wednesday if his start gets delayed), but the rest of our family and my grandmother probably wouldn’t be as ready to go compared to a day game.

If we could somehow convince my grandfather to go (who like @Bols has had some really unfortunate health luck over the past several years…always dealing with something), he would absolutely need to go to a day game. I’m hoping that we can pull off the best realistic scenario, which is taking all of my family including my grandmother. She’s been cooped up in the house for just as much time taking care of my grandfather, so it’d be really good for her to get out like that, especially since she still can.

I, of course, being the (evil) genius that I am, have devised a plan. I proposed that my dad and I could go to the game on Tuesday by ourselves…maybe get some decent seats, and get to watch Skubal. My mom and brother don’t care too much about seeing them more than once, since they’re just fans by association to us. Then, maybe we could all go back on Saturday to the day game against the Twins. My dad I think is on board, both considering the team’s “out of nowhere” success this season and the fact that I’m headed for med school in a few years where I won’t be able to do this kind of thing as easily anymore. I know my mom is on board. I feel like we might be able to convince my grandmother to go on Saturday, but that’s not 100%. It would obviously be a ton of fun to go Saturday with just my parents and my brother, but if we could bring my grandmother (and maybe even my grandfather) along that would make it that much more special.

With Father’s Day in a couple of days, in comes my question…

I already got my dad a father’s day present to give to him sometime before the end of Sunday, but I think it would be really cool if I also got us the tickets to the weeknight game when Skubal pitches. My mom tried to tell me that I didn’t need to pay for them but I’m not going to listen to her this one particular time. I think it’d be special if I got them for us.

Anyway, the problem is obviously knowing which night Skubal is going to pitch. He’ll be scheduled for Tuesday after tonight, but there’s the possibility of them pushing him back a day like they did right before the Cubs series last week. He was originally scheduled to start the last game against the White Sox before we had a random bullpen game.

I think it’d be really cool if I could have the tickets ready to show my dad on father’s day, but I’d rather wait and make sure we’re going to the right game. At what point will we be able to know for sure what game to go to to see Skubal pitch?

Give him a Tigers hat or a Tigers jersey with a note inside that says we are going to the next Skubal start. Then buy the tickets once Skubal day is official! Son of the year award you will receive.

Dammit Boyd! If you would’ve given me that idea 15 minutes ago I would’ve used it.

I LITERALLY just gave him his #1 dad Tigers shirt.

You can still buy the Skubal start tickets though right? Once it’s announced.
