Here are the players who got the better of their matchups in Week 12.
Anzalone was tasked with covering Dawson Knox 14 times, both in zone and man concepts. He wasn’t graded negatively on his route coverage once on these plays. Consequently, Knox was targeted zero times against him.

I know analzone hasnt been all great but he’s played every week at least and gave us some consistency in the lineup.
That’s okay Cap, I was just joking anyways… to be quite honest I don’t think Anzalone is any good either. He’s a stopgap player who is average on a good day. He’s much better in pass coverage though than run defense. Shit he misses so many tackles in the run game.
I just think it’s hilarious how much you hate the guy. Your boy Barnes is the complete opposite, good vs the run, horrible vs the pass. Combine their skill sets and we might have something! haha
I don’t hate the guy, I hate the fact that he is a pet of Campbell’s and plays no matter what he does on the field. All the coaches preach how each player earns his keep, well that is except Anzalone. I would love to see Barnes and Rodrigo on the field for one full series. However Campbell will never do that because it would be hard to come back to Anzalone after the success those two players together would have. Ask yourself, why haven’t you seen that combination on the field for a full series of downs?
Average on a good day is the best player in our LB corps…
We will starting next year… I highly doubt Anzalone is back. It’ll be the Barnes and Rodrigo show, is that a good thing, not sure. We need much more talent and competition in that linebacker room. Could be the weakest unit on the team currently.
