Nick Kurtz is a stud

Nick Kurtz! Now that’s a name to remember. He plays 1st base for the A’s. He turned 22 a few months ago.

Tonight he’s 5 for 5 with 3 homers and 5 rbi’s.

As a rookie this year In 66 career games he now has 23 homers, 59 rbi’s and is batting over .300
OPS over .1000 as a rookie is nuts

To make it even more impressive he has only played 33 minor league games.

How much does he weigh? Asking for a Blue Jays fan.

Shit. He’s on my bench.

Tough break! He is easily winning player of the month. OPS in July is .1350

Dropped him for Caglianone, who I dropped and now lost Kurtz. I reasoned I wouldn’t in a 12 team 19 category 10 keeper mixer keep him over Matt Olson.

Sweating on that decision now.

I suck this year and the inn is swamped. Don’t even open it. Won the league last year so that’s good.

His nickname is Big Amish! 6 foot 5… 240 pounds…big dude.

When he gets a hit he celebrates by churning butter! I’m not even kidding.

And he homered again! 4 homers tonight and a double that hit right off the top of fence. Was almost 5 homers… Crazy shit

I hit 2 dingers in the same game… twice.

I was 12 yo when I did the first time…

and a junior in high school the 2nd time.

I was on cloud 9 after hitting two in the same game… it must be amazing to hit 4 dingers in a single game!

I have a long-time baseball league I’m in. We even have rookie drafts and I drafted him. I can’t wait until he grows up!

The guy I’m playing against this week has him. I had a huge lead and he pretty much caught up to me because of this.

This was the double.

Did it once in a league softball game. Played with these guys 10 years, maybe hit 8 HR. Always on base though…42 for 49 one year…

Anyways, HR 1 was a rising liner to CF about 15 ft right. That’s where my swing goes. 2nd was a grand slam to left field power alley that tied it 9-9 and we won in extras.

I swung so hard I heard the WHOOSH of the bat. My secret? My CEO and the corporate lawyer pissed me off so much doing stupid (and little did I know also really illegal shit like defrauding banks of $80m) that ot carried over after work…

So yeah, I needed more TV biopic worthy ( It made “American Greed” TV Show 5 years later after I left) massive felonies to hit for power apparently.

My 1st home run wver was actually “stolen” from me.

I was 10 years old… playing in an all-star tourney.

The opposing team was the 2nd best team in the tourney…
behind us of course… :smirk:

and they had their ace lefty on the mound.

I cranked a ball that barely cleared the fence.

Unfortunately… the field “ump” was a high school classmate of my brother’s… and he ruled that it didn’t clear the fence… but claimed it went between 2 of the “slats” in the fence. I had to settle for a ground rule double.

The gap in the slats of the fence was maybe and inch… definitely not more than 1.5 inches.

A baseball has a diameter around 2.9 inches.

Needless to say… he wasn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer.

I was so freaking mad…. :rage:
