No Excuses for Aaron Glenn

None. Holmes went out and got this guy a ton of talent. Top draft picks. Top free agents. Rebuilt the secondary.

And yet? Still garbage on the defensive side of the ball. Geno Smith completes 75% of his passes. No pressure almost all day. Guys lined up 15 yards off the LoS on a 3rd and 10. Rushing 3 and still leaving guys wide open. Only one sack this year so far, and it was on a dumb QB play for not throwing the ball out of bounds.

It’s indefensible at this point, and we are in game 2 of 17. It hasn’t gotten any better with much better talent.

His coaching loses them games, and it will cost them the playoffs if it keeps on like it is.

Playing guys out of position. Playing guys that suck instead.

Glenn should be on notice for sure but nothing is or should happen right now. The defense played well in game 1 when considering the opponent. Hopefully this is just a blip on the radar. Both seasons we struggled mightily on defense early in the season but got better as the season went on. We can’t afford that to happen again.

Yep. Terrible effort. It has to get fixed and AG deserves the right to fix it.

Rough day for the D but again we lost the turnover battle 3-0. That was the difference.

Should be an interesting week in the “D” room…

I’d give him through the halfway point. If they haven’t fixed anything by then, take away playcalling duties from him. He’ll cost them the playoffs.

Playing Charles Harris over Houston at DE should be a criminal offense in the state of Michigan.

And the DT play has been atrocious. Boy am I glad we didn’t draft Jalen Carter…(heavy sarcasm)…
McNeill might as well get fat again. And Buggs was no treasure, but he sure as hell was better than what we replaced him with.

One sack this year–on a dumb QB play where anyone else would have thrown it out of bounds.

One turnover this year–on a gift dropped pass right in the hands of the WR that ended up in the hands of the DB.

Both plays were flukes. They’ve forced nothing this year. His defense isn’t even close to being in position to force turnovers.

I can’t even spot Houston when it’s an obvious passing situation

But three turnovers vs none
Most defenses don’t win that

Makes me angry. I’m surprised Brad isn’t putting his hand on the scale.

I think that is completely fair. It Glenn doesn’t show massive improvement we should be making a change by the bye week. With the talent level we have on defense we should be top 15.

Absolutely criminal! Pass rush is everything in this league.

I agree, rough day for the D which is what made the 3 turnovers hurt even worse. I just can’t put it all on the D when the offense turned the ball over 3 times one for a pick 6. Hard to overcome that for any team.

ASB’s fumble at the end of half had no impact.

The INT was a pick 6…. and the defense still gave up 400 yards, 28 first downs, and 30 points.

Only 1 TO contributed to the defense giving up any of those 30 points.

They had a pick 6 and scored a TD off the Montgomery fumble. That is 14 points!

So turning the ball over at the 23 had nothing to do with points lol

so… aside from the TOs… the defense gave up about 375 yards and 23 points…. when Seahawks metriculated the ball all the way down the field.

Oh… and the kicker for Seattle missed 2 FGs…
one of which wasn’t long.

Is that good?

Should have got him Carter

Defense wasn’t good. We lost the turnover battle which lead to 14 pts for the other team. It doesn’t matter what team it is in the NFL you’re not going to win many games in that scenario. I don’t even know what you are trying to argue here. Mistakes by the offense and defense is why we lost.
