Fair to assume Mayer will never do this:
Mayer is my boy….he’s reminds me of Gronk….but even with all that I do not want the Lions to draft him unless they are picking in the 20s

I’d rather see the lions pick up a guy like schoonmaker from Michigan in the 5th or 6th. A hell of a run blocker with sneaky abilities in the pass game. He’d be a good compliment to Mitchell and Wright. Kind of between them both in skill set.

I wouldn’t be opposed to having a guy like him on our team. We could use a big red zone target. But I think I’m done with 1st round TEs.
I’ve been done with them since David Lewis was drafted, but didn’t have a problem with Pettigrew because the Lions had already drafted Stafford at No 1 overall.
Still wouldn’t want Mayer in the 20s though.
How the hell do parents do this sort of thing to their kid?
With that last name, there’s two first names you can’t choose for a boy… Michael and Oscar. That doesn’t seem overly constraining to me.
