Why I did what I did:
Graham Barton, Laiatu Latu and Jer’Zhan Newton are not available at #29. Darius Robinson is available and will be at #34 too. Baltimore, KC and Carolina are jonesing for WRs just like New England, so NE trades up past them for WR Ladd McConkey. The Patriots want their new QB to have easy targets as he acclimates to the NFL, so flipping #103 to Detroit makes sense.
Brad uses #103 and 142 to snag redshirt CBs Qwan’tez Stiggers and Willie London Drew Jr. Carolina also has #141 and they’re thrilled with the trade. In 2025, Brad says goodbye to pricey CBs Davis and Moseley and hello to your sophomore starters plus 2026 compensatory picks to boot.
The Lions are good enough for primetime at WR this year. They are, I say. Jamo’s true limits will be revealed in the coming season, which will clarify our WR room needs for 2025 and beyond. Unless huge value presents itself, I’m ignoring WRs until the late rounds. Though this year has a bumper crop, good college WRs grow on trees each year and every year. Spoiler alert: Joshua Cephus will be this year’s version of Marcus Colston. Thanks in advance, Brad.
