MLB big inning on the MLB network is awesome when you play fantasy baseball. It’s pretty much like NFL redzone except they put 4 games on your screen at the same time. Its on right now if anyone wants to check it out.

The kid you sound exactly like your hilarious grand dad.

Any chance you can update us on more important things

Dodgers protected his arm last year because he was coming off TJ. Ohtani should pitch 125-135 innings this year.

One thing about trades-

When it’s 3 for 1, it’s really 3 for 3. The team receiving 3 while giving one has to cut two guys to facilitate the incoming guys. Maybe not right away, as there may be holes for injury, but the waiver wire is relatively full of average mlb starting players, especially non closer relievers.

I’ve traded 1st rd pick guys all the time. They have outsized impact. You have to crush the 2 guys you are dropping to make it work. Crush categories, like you traded away Clemens, but got back Jack Morris, Vince Coleman and Ryno and you locked down steals, triples, singles, runs and hope you didn’t eff yoyrself in more than ERA WHIP and HR

Dump trades kill leagues. I dont feel at all the Soto deal was, but it bears repeating. This is a funsies league and I don’t see it being an issue, but it bears repeating.

I don’t think that’s what Boyd was talking about. I.e. I think you misinterpreted what he was asking about.

I dont think so. He has ignored me completely since the day I joined here. I dont know what I did wrong but I think coming here was a mistake. In the last year the only dad I ever knew was murdered my grandpa died my grandma died and now my whole family is fighting over things thst I dont understand. I hopped that being friends with the people my papa was friends with would help me through this but it hasn’t helped at all. I can’t sleep at night I cry all the time and I feel like I dont have anybody. Im sorry to dump this on you. I am very very tired and probly should have just kept it to myself.

You go kid! Stay strong! I’m sure @stephenboyd57 met nothing nefarious. He’s a really good dude for one of those up North villagers. I agree MLB network is awesome. I love it too! @stephenboyd57 doesn’t like it because he’s Canadian and it requires him to multi-task.

I lost my dad in January 2025 hit me really hard. Then my wife was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in October 2025 at the age of 33. Took me to a dark place that I hope never happens to you or anyone else. I took it out on people and acted like a jerk to people on this board. I 100 percent dont think Boyd meant anything rude at all. You can always reach out to me if you need to talk.

That sucks.. you will get thru it. The guys here can be a bit gruff but realize we are all men and a few women.. theres alot of experience here and you have a long way to go to be a grizzled vet. Since you like baseball so much and this goes for the rest of you.. this game i am about to share is my lifeline. I am in 4 sim leagues and they are quite fun. If anyone wants to join one let me know. We are on version 26 but will be changing to 27 here in the next few months. Feel free to ask me questions.

OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE COMMISSIONER:

As you all know, yesterday I and one other manager were involved in a legal trade in our league. A vocal few of you all voiced your displeasure with the terms of the trade, requesting the ability to veto the trade, or to otherwise reverse it.

Unfortunately, I received word yesterday evening that several managers were colluding with each other to enact several “dump” trades to tank this league before it even really gets started. It was only due to these threats that I used my ability as commissioner to “reverse” that deal. It is a real shame that several of you are apparently so immature that you feel you need to collude and conspire with each other to wreck a FREE fantasy baseball league simply because you were just so unbelievably upset with the terms of a trade that two other managers agreed to.

As several of you may know, Cole Ragans, who has absolutely no business being available on the waiver wire, cleared waivers and was assigned to Davicus due to waiver priority last night. Ragans was dropped by the same manager whom the vocal few of you all so strongly “defended” yesterday. However, it would seem pretty hypocritical to get that mad and that petty about a trade that I make with the other manager yesterday as you try to “protect his players” and “protect the integrity of the league” or whatever your immature reasoning was and then to go and try to steal a very good player away from his team for free on the waiver wire. Unfortunately, that is exactly what the records shows. As commissioner, I have the ability to see who put in claims for a player that was on waivers.

What I did last night was reward the complaining, colluding, and petty behavior from a bunch of grown adults over something as simple as a fantasy baseball trade in a league that is playing for no money. Forget the fact that one manager had to click “accept” and click “confirm” on that trade…nope…we need to conspire and get the league thrown in the toilet. What a loser mentality that is. Instead of trying to compete, you complain and whine and try to cheat to make everybody lose. Taking away what should and will be a fun experience from many other people because of your own pettiness and immaturity is not the type of behavior that I will reward or tolerate. This childish behavior is unfortunately not foreign to fantasy sports, but typically does not happen in a league full of adults who should be mature enough to not have these types of problems.

Effective immediately: That trade will be back on. You all should be old enough to recognize that there are consequences for your actions. You all signed up for this league on your own…I didn’t make you…and when you click some buttons on your computer, you are responsible for those actions. You also should be old enough to be beyond this low level of behavior.

I also provided ample warning that this is both how I play fantasy sports and this was how I planned to approach this league when we played. You guys joined anyway and processed trades with me. That’s not my responsibility.

If you guys can’t have fun because someone else swaps some digital baseball cards in a way you don’t like, that’s just sad.

Effective Immediately: To protect the league from self-destruction by a few petty managers, we will be implementing “league voting” trade review. This means that each manager can vote independently on whether or not they believe an agreed upon trade should be processed. I believe only 5 of 14 managers will need to “veto” a trade for it to not go through, although I will update with the official rule once it is implemented.

To be a “good sport,” I will vote “yes” on any and all trades, regardless of the conditions. This means that the future of our fantasy league lies in the hands of each of you…the managers. How do you want this to go? Do you want to have fun with a bunch of your buddies? Or do you want to ruin a good time for your friends because you are just so upset with what two other managers did yesterday?

This rule will not be permanent. League review for trades will only remain in place until I am assured that the long term future of this league is not put at risk. I personally despise any form of trade vetoing in any form of fantasy sports league, so at a later date I will remove it to allow for trading in the way we have now, which is the healthiest way to move forward.

I’m optimistic that those of you who wanted this league destroyed will recognize the type of immature behavior that required, and that you will all be mature enough to move past this incident so we can proceed with this league in a fun way.

Lastly, in the future, if anyone has an issue with me or something that I say or do, come to my PMs. Not someone else’s. I am doing what I’m doing now not because of the fantasy baseball implications, but because of the real life implications of the type of behavior I rewarded last night. Complaining is not how you get what you want, and I will not be as tolerant of that behavior in the future.

As many of you know, I am a pre-med with a 4.0 and also trying to manage an AI assistive device health tech startup while studying for the MCAT. I don’t have time to deal with things like this moving forward.

Thanks for your attention. Let’s play ball.
