He knows a guy, an agent, who basically is saying the lions are not communicating like in past years so OBVIOUSLY the lose of FO people is hurting them and they are struggling.
He is also saying he is connected in the NFL with agents and teams and players.
Also, IF we dare get crazy and apply some logic to the āagentāsā statement, (I know, right?) we could say this. In 2021, the Lions were paying the cap penalty and couldnāt afford much in free agency. Beginning in 2022, and in 2023, the Lions were in talent aquisition mode. They were willing to pay money to fill the many holes we had. Now in 2024, we really only had the one big hole with DJ Reader, and in 2025 we donāt have many holes at all. Replacing Carlton Davis was the biggest immediate need.
Since the Lions are more in talent retention mode vs talent acquisition, it only makes sense (and cents) that the Lions are being much harder to bargain with. They donāt have the need to throw money around to acquire talent, now they can be much choosier and tougher to negotiate with since they are coming from a position of strength.

Losing Sosna and Dykema the last 2 year was a good thing right and nothing in negotiations could break down in commutations with new team reps to agents because this organization is so perfect.
People do realize agents donāt talk to Holmes directly for every transaction or for every negotiations.
Just remember Sosna didnāt leave tell after the draft last year: reason I knew DJ Reader was already signed 6 hrs before it was Announced last year and posted it. Reason I posted Mosleys contract break down a day and half before it was public last year.
