When I saw the opening lineup I knew my Cardinals would be in for a long afternoon at the plate. I understand platoon advantages but JJ and Gorman hit lefties better than any RH bat we have on the bench. It was nice to see that throw from Walker in RF. His defense has gone from the worst in MLB to above average. Still waiting for the hitting to come around.
Hopefully they can get Jack over his pitch count early tomorrow. We will have to score a lot of runs with May on the mound.
Valdez doesn’t speak any English?
I’ve seen him speak a little bit but I haven’t seen him hold conversation in English.
He definitely wouldn’t be the only guy in the MLB that doesn’t speak English.
Walker might be turning a corner at the plate. Too soon to tell. Big dudes like that sometimes just have too much everything to get it all moving right until a little later than some.
He looks like he is Jason Heyward/Lance Lynn size. I was front row bullpen at Wrigley about 10 yes ago and stood next to those two guys, and I swear the sun disappeared.
Walker has some really hard hit balls when he makes contact and he is only 23. We rushed him through the minors, skipped AAA, and switched him from 3B to RF where he was probably the worst defensive RF in the game. I would hate to give up on him at this point. If his D keeps improving he don’t have to be a 40 HR guy to be a good player.
Saw him a few times in the FL league, so much talent and hopefully finally putting it together.

I was supposed to have baseball practice this morning and it got canceled again because of rain.
Honesty i hates practice i would’ve been pumped .

I’d also put Jackson Merrill in my starting lineup of I was you. He’s an everyday guy for a good fantasy team.
The good thing is that if you change your lineup one day, those guys will automatically be in your lineup the next day. The time-consuming thing is when guys play one day and don’t play the next day…then you need to sub and change it back after that.
I always loved practice, another chance to compete and be with the boys.
