I think there’s a contractual setoff.
Good. Tepper deserves it.
Woof. Duce was fired too. Can we bring him back?
Nice gig!
Wow. Went home to be closer to his family…fired after 11 games. Ruthless league
Texas A&M owes their ex-coach 75 million.
And Deuce asked to let go so that he could take the job in Carolina and be close to his sick mother.
Tepper’s 23x great grandfather was Henry VIII, which ironically is the number of coaches he’ll be on as of next year
Also no genealogy was done to support the above joke
It’s my understanding that the new team is responsible for the difference… So if he was making $5 million/year in Indy and $9 million/year in Carolina, the Panthers would be on the hook for $4 million/ year for the remaining years from the Colts contract. Not 100% sure, but I remember reading that at some point.

as DC.
Maybe we can bring in Reich as OC if/when Ben Johnson leaves.
Reich is a former Lions player… (which I didn’t realize until I saw him in a Lions uniform during the Bye Bye Barry documentary).
It’s clear Reich and Campbell have some sort of relationship. We essentially “traded” Deuce for Montgomery.
There’s the offset language there.
The Colts burden was lightened by the Panthers.
The Panthers burden will be lightened by whom he works for next.
If it’s the Patriots, he’ll be a low-level 5-figure salary guy, leaving Tepper on the hook for 99.5% of the contract he signed.
the first one is void
Not void, offset.
If the 1st job would have paid him 8 mil per year for 2023, but his 2nd job paid him 9 mil, then the 1st team is fully off the hook.
If his 1st job would have been 8 mil for 2023, but his 2nd job is lower at, say, 4 mil… then the 1st employer owes him the difference.
This is what makes New England so filthy. They bring back failed HC’s as “consultants” and pay them less than a mil while the other team remains on the hook for 90+% of what was signed for.
Sounds like it. Word is reich didn’t even want young as the pick. If I’m Ben Johnson I’m not going anywhere near that job.

Tom Pelissero reporting that Josh McCown is out as QB coach, too.
Yep
“The Panthers on Monday also fired assistant head coach/running backs coach Duce Staley and quarterbacks coach Josh McCown.”
Since he was fired along with Frank Reich, I hope the Lions bring this guy back. What assistant from the Panthers, do you think the Lions should bring in?
Wash fired too??
Thought it was just the offensive coaches
I heard it somewhere. But I may be wrong. But maybe he could return this offseason?
I think Wash left because he wasn’t on the same page with AG. Doubt he’s back.
