In what games in the last two years has Michigan looked well coached? It’s Hoke but with better recruiting.
No surprise. The team looked awful. Don’t be fooled by the meaningless preseason AP rankings that over ranked them WAY higher than they should have been.
Jonathan Smith should be next
He is a clown. Any big time school should just pay Indiana coach whatever he wants. That guy is embarrassing other coaches with how good he is doing at Indiana.
It’s the most impressive college coaching job in forever. Just amazing performance by Cignetti. He’s also clearly got an awesome eye for talent. If I’m someone like the Dolphins that’s who I’d want. I bet you’d have that early Pete Carrol Seattle like draft bump due to his eye for talent and familiarity with the crops of talent coming into the league.
So my only point on Moore from the beginning was that the UM brand could have almost anyone coming off a Natty and they GAVE the program to Moore.
If they had followed a real process and then gave it to Moore then fine. But no process just hands him the keys.
BUT also for me you have to give him 2 more years before you fire him. Or at the very least all next season. Last year was trash due to how things fell out. So this is year 1 for me.
Cignetti has ruined it for everyone. Dude comes in out of no where really and just kicks ass at Indiana…..just let that sink in. 0-46 on the road against top 5 all time and they beat number 3 Oregon on the road across 3 time zones. So what was Moores excuse? I actually kind of like Moore I think he will do fine given a little time to bring it together. With the current system he should be back in the playoffs next year. And if he ran the table this year he will also.
I think they wanted continuity. They were returning a lot of great players (cf the 2025 NFL draft) and with the NOA they didn’t want other programs poaching their entire program
I am not sure how I feel about Moore. It is notable that their best two games this year came while he was serving his suspension. Particulary concerning that he’s an Oline guy and that is the worst unit on the team. OTOH they are recruiting ($$$) better than they have since the early Harbaugh years. There will be a lot of talent coming in to the program the next couple of years
Doesn’t this put a ton of pressure on Wisconsin to fire Fickell? If not then they really come off as not caring about being successful. They owe him 22m less than Franklin in a buyout.
No it is a weird situation and I agree that it kind of made sense to just flow with it. It was not a BAD decision on face value.
But also they should have realized that decision of HC is a long term deal. And not trying to find the best guy possible and worried about a couple of players leaving is looking quite silly. Mostly because of Indiana….
No shit.why are Michigan fans calling for his head already. Same people who were calling for jimbos head as well. 10 million qb who has talent. Think about it, Moore is fired and underwood is gone.
Msu should be on the phone right now. Let the buyout happen.
Won’t happen.
No more big games for James to lose. Not gonna miss him. The guy was a dick.
Matt Patricia

UNC’s next coach.
Waiting for them to throw out Urban Meyer and Nick Saban on their wishlist as third and fourth options.
As opposed to Moore stays and UM is unprepared and poorly coached?
You have a young qb. Give it time.
Why do you think Cignetti is unrealistic? He’s from Pittsburgh. He played at WVU. His dad was HC at WVU. He was HC at IPU. It’s his neck of the woods and give the regional nature of CFB when he was young it was THE program. They’ve got a shot for sure IMO.
You hardly beat any top 10 teams then you lose to UCLA and Northwestern and, yeah, FIRED!!!
He actually did a good job bringing that program from the depths of hell to national prominence again but it had gotten stale and he never won the big game as has been mentioned ad nauseum over the years so it was time.
