At this point, I’m not crowning him. But I can say that I was concerned with the hire, and that he has eased those concerned through his on field deliverables. Not perfect. Still would like to see a higher volume of trick plays with all the speed they have in Gibbs and Jamo, but he is putting up points and that is the name of the game.
Who?
I agree that they don’t always make for good head coaches, but I can’t remember a single one turning down the opportunity, if they got it. Now many have tried, failed, then decided to stick as a coordinator (LeBeau, for example), but none have ever just decided to stay coordinators that I’m aware of. Tom Moore is the one people always bring up, but he’s on record as wishing he got a shot, he just never did.
So many magic beans. Short, bald, massive head. One bean for each one of his short comings ![]()
LOL you are probably right!
@BarrySanders20 Is this team any good or are we still not headed anywhere? ![]()
Looks like he’s making it into Silo 18.
He’s staying in the division
Had to look it up. Sounds interesting.
I like Petzing. But stumblebum has a special place in my heart.
The expectation was to always be good. A lot of us was disappointed in the teams play early. No way we should have lost to the Panthers, period!!!
I mean… maybe?
the lions offense seems to be good no matter who is the OC. I think Goff + a strong oline are at the point where he just elevates them to top 5 status if he’s given time in the pocket
this might actually hurt Petzing. He’s obviously done great, but he’s not the main reason why the offense is so great, it’s been great for years
He also didn’t do so well with less talent in Arizona. I have a feeling we keep him for at least a couple years
you’ve been critical for far longer than week 1 come on lol…
but its all good idrc
I’m pretty sure we were saying the same thing about Shep at this point last year. That hasn’t aged well at all.
I think it’s time we fired that one up again. He’s a stud.
Did you know that play came about because Jordan Love actually fumbled vs the Bears and then threw a touchdown pass and Ben saw it on tape and copied it.
Some michigan pretzel brand is missing a big opportunity here.

I was one of the few who loved the hire, and quite frankly I have been a little disappointed. It’s an expectation thing I guess. I thought he’d do more to disguise his plays. I could probably predict about 70% of his plays and I’m a moron. I will say however, he did a fantastic job in the second half in adjusting to Flores. His use of Brock Wright in the second half was brilliant. And Teslaa for that matter.
The Lions offense & STs did their jobs, but the defense made Teta McMillan look like future HOFer Mike Evans in his prime.
Respectfully, I’m not sure that’s reasonable. The guy has been coaching this unit for 7 games. At least give him the better half of one season. I’m excited to see him in year 2 with this offense, but the first handful of games have left a positive impression so far.
