Post the dumbest or best Skubal trade ideas here

Skubal to the Jays for Kirk!

You said dumbest idea right

The actual dumbest would be Skubal to the Twins for Ryan Kreidler.

I personally think Tong will be a better MLB pitcher than McLean. At least I like his stuff a little more. Tong is two years younger so he isn’t as MLB ready as McLean.

I’m right there with you albeit with the caveat that with young pitching it’s largely just guess work.

You would get a mlb ready outfielder

A outfield prospect in a few years

A infield prospect in a year

A LHP prospect

A prospect who had some success in the majors but missed 2025 due to having TJ surgery.

A pitcher who this year in A ball went 3-1 with a 2.25 era but didnt do as well when he got called up to AA. Could be a nice future prospect

A lefty relief pitcher who was solid this year

A former top catching prospect who could be a solid #2/#3 catcher

All that for skubal and I could live with it

To me, these are the conversation starters with each team. If you don’t want to pay up, we’ll trade him to someone that will.

Mets: Nolan McLean (I wouldn’t need much more than this)

Dodgers: Pages + pitching prospect (Sasaki?)

Yankees: TBD

The dumbest trade is to trade him at all.

Here’s one I found:

Here is what a trade between Boston and Detroit would look like.

Tigers receive: SP Payton Tolle, OF Jhostynxon Garcia, SS, Marcelo Mayer, SP Brayan Bello

Red Sox receive: SP Tarik Skubal

Not sure about this one.

Tolle (22 yo) has potential. A relatively high strikeout ratio:

Mayer (22 yo) had a high OBP in the minors:

Jhostynxon Garcia (22 yo)– has some power; good OBP

Brayan Bello (26 yo)–a starting MLB pitcher who has had some success over the past 3 seasons:

None of those guys move the needle for me in Boston but they all have a pretty good chance of being solid pieces. Problem with the hitters is overlap, but it could facilitate further trades.

I dont think he gets traded this offseason. I think he signs here, but maybe not in this offseason.

Nailbiter all year.

You may find this one I located more to your liking:

Mets receive: LHP Tarik Skubal

Tigers receive: 3b Mark Vientos, C Fransico Alvarez, RHP Nolan McLean, 1b/OF Ryan Clifford (Mets #8)

Tigers trade: Cy Young winner Tarik Skubal.

Tigers receive:

  • Sum Ting Wong
  • Wi Tu Lo
  • Ho Lee Fuk
  • Bang Ding Ow

Thinking of the future here. These guys might not be the best at flying planes, but they’re top notch baseball prospects.

That’s one of the great pranks of all-time.

That and the one on Shedeur Sanders. “You’re going to have to wait a little longer.” LOL. Only if those guys weren’t dumb enough to post evidence of their guilt on the internet.

I would as well. I think Vientos is going to be a solid .280 hitter with 30 dongs a year.

He’s not a good 3rd baseman though, despite having a strong arm…which could be problematic. He is probably best suited at first base.

Terrence Ross Wow GIF

That would stun me.

I’m taking that deal for McLean and Alvarez, not for Vientos.

He’ll fit right in with Weeney, Keith, and Tork.

Vientos is the kind of guy the team is trying to get away from and is a bad 3bman and ZMac had a better year.

Alvarez cant stay healthy and Dingler is better and Briceno and Liranzo are coming…

Benge fits the Tiger profile and age/window with callups. Mets are Desperate. Make them pay.

Carson is a good name.
