Holy shit, just got this notification on my phone. I know there were rumors that he was thinking of retiring last year but this is a shocker at this point in the offseason and an enormous blow to the Lions Superbowl chances. I really wish Frank had decided to do this before the offseason started, now the Lions are in a really bad position with little time to find an adequate replacement. I guess Ratledge is the guy now, Frazier? Glasgow? Ugh
Anyway, I wish Frank the best. The guy battled through a ton of pain to play on gamedays.

Tate Ratledge, come on down. Some big shoes to fill. Could be GG but might as well bite the bullet and throw the rook in the fire and give him a chance to grow.

Ratledge was the best looking at center and took 1st team snaps
Personally I’d prefer a vet at center. GG has started a few games at Center for us when Ragnow was out. Center has to make all the calls. Ratledge at right guard where he played in college would be an easier transition for him.
