If Mark Davis hasn’t gotten socked in his ultra-punchable face, Shilo should be okay.
Raiders fire G.M. Tom Telesco
After firing HC Antonio Pierce earlier this week, owner Mark Davis has elected to move on from G.M. Tom Telesco as well.

But we don’t have anything in the cupboard worth not sacrificing at EDGE other than Hutch. The horror of trading out a cheap Paschal for an expensive Crosby and having to sacrifice one of “our guys” that deliver like 1 or 2 sacks per season.
No, I agree there. But we’d be sacrificing elsewhere. Kerby or Jamo or Branch or LaPorta.
Maxx’s contract is up after 2026. If he’s going to be a Lion, it’ll be in 2027. Convenient, considering 2026 is our tight window year and things free up a bit after that (though after some extensions, it won’t be as much)
It’s not Crosby vs. Paschal.
It’s Crosby vs. Zeitler, Barnes, Z-Smith, a 1st rd and 3rd rd pick. also it would probably impact the ability to extend a player like Kerby.
Also he is an older player coming off of an injury.
Crosby may end up on the Lions in a few years after he is released but bringing him in now at a huge salary and trade cost is not worth it.
What if we trade them AG or Ben for Maxx?
By my calculations, by the time 2027 rolls around the cool factor of playing for the Lions will be such that Maxx will agree to play for … * checks notes * … the vet minimum.

Crosby for Jamo? In a heartbeat. Maybe we get a comp pick to boot.
Obviously it’s not like-for-like. My point was when you start bringing in big outside contracts, you’re forced to give up on the guys you nurtured into productive players, and more importantly, into Detroit Lions. That’s a lot to give up. More than our FO is willing to give up, I suspect.

Oh I know it’s a long shot and would be quite against the grain for what we’ve seen. But one can dream. It’s just too good a fit and it seems like the Raiders / Crosby “may” be verrrry similar to a certain Lions / Stafford situation not so long ago. Yet another rebuild, OR go to a SB contender to go get some rings now. IF Crosby “were” to entertain an exit, can you think of a team he’d rather go to? So “those” two things are not too far out of the bounds of logic right? Now we just have to be a dance partner.
I am certainly not someone who doesn’t love the idea of Crosby on this roster. In fact I think you’d struggle to find anyone who didn’t like the idea. I just think you are more willing to deviate from our structure than our FO is. And that’s fine, viable strategy, I just really don’t think you’ll see it here. It’s more important to them to reward the guys already here who deserve it.
They just fired Telesco too. Planning to go after a Lions coach + GM combo?

They might honestly
That does become a more enticing job.
Issue is no qb to really work with, but if they get Darnold, that is workable
Personally I thought they might be a landing spot for Rodgers, but that was when I thought Vrabel was the favorite (which I still think honestly). Him and Brady could keep Rodgers in check. Not sure that Ben as a younger coach could pull that off. Not sure he wouldn’t want to honestly.
This could also be a way to entice Bill Belichick. Remember, Tom Brady is trying to get Bill there. What does Bill love doing? Picking his own players.
Pierce, Telesco…
Next piece is Crosby for rebuild capital.
Z. Smith would be perfect spelling both Hutch and Crosby in steady rotation.
