Tampa was way more than just Stamkos. He was probably the 4th or 5th most important player in those Cup runs. Vasilevskiy, Hedman, Kucherov and Point all coming out ahead. All Yzerman guys outside of Hedman.
He also built out the depth of that organization so he gets a lot of credit for what they became and still are.

Pretty incredible for them to turn it around.
Coaching of course makes a difference and the team is having fun again.
Not sure they will make the playoffs as there is a logjam of teams going for the wildcard spots.
With some top prospects coming the next couple of years they will be in the thick of things

I haven’t looked at their stats, but some of the write ups I’ve read stated that they are getting the puck out of their zone much better, getting more shots on goal, attacking the net, and putting the other team on their heels finally.
It was so frustrating watching games where it felt like the other team was on a never ending power play because they could not get the puck out of their own zone.
It was like watching a football game where your offense continuously goes 3 and out and the other team has these long sustaining drives. When you never get to see your offense on the field it makes for a very boring and frustrating game to watch.

Tmac is a good coach. And you’re absolutely right, the Wings look great under him. Maybe it’s because of personnel, or maybe his philosophy has evolved. And maybe it’s both. Whatever it is, the wings are anything but boring so far with him as coach.
