But when you draft well and develop well it won’t get worse.

Plus all our guys wanna be here

It’s quite possible also that the guys they let walk drop off a cliff next season as well.

We aren’t letting young studs who are looking for their second contract go, are we?

Right, worse FOR NOW, but hopefully better after April. Which is kinda what Reisman said honestly

Plus, this is really want Jman needs if he wants those comp picks

Sooooo again…who actually believes brad is gonna not give branch and joseph a second contract? What posturing is occuring that screams Trey hendrickson is walking through the door w a new massive deal and picks are given up?

Brad said after the loss to the Niners: we will draft, develop and pay our own and use FA strategically"

What has he ever done that deviates from that stated plan???

Right we haven’t quite reached the real exodus part of our build. We probably won’t next year either, but the year after that? Yeah, we might be hemorrhaging talent by then. ESPECIALLY if he keeps nailing the draft.

Henorrhaging talent but the level of talent on the team will be even higher. IF, as u say, the drafts keep going as fhey have.

I do think Brad could literally tell people every player he’s interested in, no bullshit, and people would still act surprised when he doesn’t go after people he said he wasn’t interested in.

And then if does keep nailing the draft the bean lovers will be asking for Brad to please take his finger out of their butts.

Right, it’s still the guys closer to the floor, but the floor is just gonna rise higher and higher as he keeps nailing picks.

Are all the bean lovers doing that now? I thought it was just a @CuriousHusker thing.

To that point brother, he literally said he didn’t think a big time de was coming this offseason…and yet how many trey to detroit or myles to detroit articles and posts have there been?

It was a Colvin thing. And way out of order. But here we are.

But did the Lions really get much worse?
Davis out for Reed is a wash, Zeitler for Mahogany essentially so there’s upside for that to be a wash but a downgrade in the short term, brought Levi back, brought Barnes back.

What people don’t realize is that all of Hutch, Barnes and McNeil were out most of the year the previous two in particular so those are massive additions from the roster we saw in the playoff stretch drive. Not to mention having a #1 corner healthy. Of course injuries will happen again but not to that level I can imagine, that was a generational loss of injuries that you hardly ever see all at once.

Edit: Losing Za’Darius Smith is a downgrade. Surprised they didn’t bring him back with the money they have to play with.

No, not really. Another year of growth from the core of the roster, and the roster is still REAL close to where we were last year.

Holmes acquired ESPNs #1 free agent at a discounted price. All of his contracts have been fairly shrewd this free agency aside from Barnes IMO. Bringing Levi back at that cost is exactly what the rest of free agency should look like.

I like his approach. Make one splash and then sign a bunch of guys to one year deals. The Bills are also taking this approach with one year deals and are improving. I will be pleased with as WR3, safety depth and a vet pass rusher. The market sets up nicely for an easy WR3 upgrade. He still could trade for a pass rusher.

I’m not even as down on the Barnes contract after seeing some of the other LB numbers.

I got news for him. One year deals doesn’t ■■■■ that up.
