Rookie Jacob Misiorowski

23 year old flame thrower…Figured I’d start a thread on this kid. You guys see him? 3 career starts, 16 innings pitched and allowed only 3 hits.

In 3 career starts he has thrown 62 pitches over 100mph. Hitting 102mph regularly.

Oh probably but legit might be the best arm I have ever seen.

I’ve only seen highlights and heard guys on MLB radio discuss him. Another fun young guy to root for.

He’s hitting 102mph with ease. Almost like he could throw faster if he wanted to.

He’ll produce for my fantasy team until that happens.

Its stupid to throw that hard all the time. His elbow is going to be ripped rubber bands.

Have him on my fantasy roster. Keeper league so hopefully the arm holds up. Young arms with that frame often don’t.

He has a pretty free and easy motion…

Also, he has elite elite extension at 7 ft 1 inch, so He is releasing the ball a good 6 to 8 inches closer to the plate than average starters. So that 102 probably looks like 104-105 ffs. Good luck.

I had a trade offer for him coming to me last year in my NL only league and turned it down for some damn stupid reason

Somebody drafted him in our league and stashed him in their N/A slot (we have one N/A slot for just such a thing.

I did manage to get Chase Burns though who I like a lot, and I have Bubba Chandler stashed in my N/A slot.

I don’t know pitching mechanics at all, but I thought what tears up your elbow is the snapping motion to create spin on breaking pitches like curve balls and such?

Thats part of it, but not the only thing.

Pretty much every pitcher requires Tommy John surgery nowadays. Teams have to fugure that into the equation when drafting them.

And they often come back throwing faster. Misiorowski gonna be throwing 105mph in no time.

At 6’7” tall…. he instantly made me think of “The Big Unit”.

Imagine that guy throwing a slider from a lower arm angle to a right handed batter… and slinging it in at 92+ mph from behind their ear hole…. :grimacing:

I didn’t want to go that far…but yea the 95 mph slider. Good heavens. Randy Johnson vibes but right handed. He also have a curve that is mid 80’s. So you get 101mph, a 95 mph slider or a 85 mile per hour curve. Good luck

It took Randy years and years to learn his command issue… This kid has it at 23 so far.

That’s why I started the thread…not your average young prospect. Every pitch is better and faster than 99% of MLB pitchers.

That’s Chris Sale, who very quietly is the fastest to 2500 Ks in MLB history, beating Unit.
