They do seem to be protecting him some with extra days rest. Likely on a real innings limit being 23 years old. Next start is tomorrow. So he had 6 days rest between his last start.

5 career starts aint no all star. So many more deserving pitchers
It’s for entertainment value. That game sucks. Having one guy blow 100+mph gas for an inning will be fun.
Yea the kid is electric but it’s a joke. Some of these guys have financial incentives in their contracts too for all star selections.
