None. We already are.

Favorites or Contenders?

Budda Baker, although I don’t think anyone here realistically wants to make that move.

For me it’s Mack. Yes he’d be a very expensive one year rental if you don’t want to give him a new deal, but you could probably get him for a late round pick. If we’re willing to let the Davis deal play out for a 3rd, a 4th for Mack to do the same, when we probably can find the cash, would be a huge boon IMHO. Too many question marks at DE opposite Hutch for my liking. Maybe Houston is ready for 20 games. Maybe Davenport will uncharacteristically make it through a season, or be there at the end when we really need him. Maybe Paschal and Cominsky can deliver more than 1 or 2 sacks. But again… way too much hope for my liking. Mack missed some time in 2018 and 2021 but outside of that, he has started every single game of the season for 10 years including the last two.

If Jamo breaks out the offense will be lethal… if he doesn’t then a WR at the trading deadline could be a possibility. Holmes has traded for WR’s a couple times now.

Jamo is going to break out.

I sure hope so. I’m about 73.654289 percent confident.

Has he been working this offseason with Goff?

Assuming the offense makes a step forward (and yes there is another and final gear available).

Then it is all about the defense.

Clearly for me it will be a DE. Would need a to let it play out but I am sure a top 10 guy will be dangled and that would be interesting

Ditto.

Goff and two first rounders for Stafford.

Some guy to pair with Hutch.

Lethal pass rush will take them over the top

But who could we get that could Maxximize the opportunity?

Mack
Trey
Judon

We have Trinity Benson on speed dial

even one extra guy stepping up on O would take them over the top.

An average Defense would.

This will be a B+Defense with an A/A+ offense

Maybe but not before trade deadline ,unless injury pre season. We don’t need mack at the cost unless Davenport really fails. He is a stud ( if he gets back to his ability) this guy can play what happened beside injuries I really don’t know, but if he is healthy he can play better than many on here think. I think a call for Mack is to early not saying is bad just I want to see how are D plays . So many fans forget or don’t know the D was top 5 against the run . What we need is better pass D an we have taken major steps with a secondary up grades the LB are same an like one stud has his rookie season behind him. The DL over all IMO is even better. I understand everyone wants better rush ( to many fans think sacks are big deal I think they are over rated i like pressure on QB make him move or throw before ready) Mack signing later if it shows we need him we have the cap money .

Mack…I know it wont happen, that’s not a Brad type move, but man, having him on the field for aprox 30% of the defensive snaps, keeping him fresh, this DL would be scary imo.
