S Windsor: Jameson Williams doesn't have to be perfect. But he does need to grow up

Wow, I hope the Lions sent the tape to the league office.

Stevenson needs to pay up for that shit.

Only thing I think Jamo did foolish now was not throw the ball harder. If you’re gonna get 15 for a guy trying to injure you, at least make it count.

Yeah, he said they do always invite him but he never comes.

Pinpoint accuracy though. Maybe we should let Jamo throw the ball on some of our trick plays.

I wonder if the RB and WR crews are full of types of people he isn’t used to always being around, and isn’t super comfortable around besides being cordial teammates. Jamo is from a poor area of St Louis and his friends are apparently all from the hood. Compare that to guys like Monty who was an eagle scout, and St Brown who lived some of his life in Germany and Paris, not to mention TP and AR who are grown men likely with kids. Maybe he just feels he doesn’t have as much in common with them as he does with his own friends that he has around a lot. Still kind of a bummer as you can tell St Brown wants him to come hang out.

Eh, my buddies badger me to go out plenty too and I almost always tell 'em to get stuffed. And that was as true when I was young as it is now. I’m a homebody.

Also he’s passing out turkeys with Kerby after games and going to kids camps and the like. It seems strange to criticize him for one thing and not praise him for the other.

I’m not criticizing anybody, I’m an introvert myself. I literally mentioned him hanging out with Kerby in another post. It’s just a bit unfortunate that he’s not comfortable hanging out with all the other skill guys since they have weekly get togethers to build comraderie.

Is it, though? You might be right, but to me this is us applying our own beliefs to the situation. Building camaraderie seems great to you and me and most everyone here, but is it necessary for success? Jerry Rice was notoriously standoffish and he seemed alright, and so did his teams. Michael Jordan was a prick everyone hated. At least Jamo is universally seen as a good kid. Actually reminds me more of Barry, who wasn’t going out with anyone either.

Also, what if he goes and they get in a big fight? Or he resents them for peer pressuring him into something he doesn’t want to do?

I just think there’s a very good chance Jamo doesn’t have to hang out with his teammates to give us his best. Nor do I think it affects the team all that much that he doesn’t. I mean, we’ve got a pretty good record.

You’re right, building camaraderie is a negative. Thank goodness he’s not hanging out with his teammates.

Right. That’s exactly what I said.
