He’s been getting cooked all year!

while he did hit his peak his first two season, hes a good cb, now 25 and on a long term contract, and its the colts biggest positional need

I dont hate it for them, even if i think its a slight overpay personally

2 1st and that turd

For

All Pro elite lock down CB

I think you’re right. I seem to remember reading an article which suggested that in 2024, DJ Reed actually had a better season than Sauce.

  • Overall Grade: 70.2 (47th out of 222 qualified cornerbacks)

  • DJ Reed

  • DJ Reed’s 2024 PFF grades were high, including an overall grade of 71.8 and a 70.1 coverage grade that ranked 31st among qualifying cornerbacks, according to PFF. Some reports from earlier in the 2024 season noted even higher grades, like a 90.5 PFF grade through five weeks, before the final season-end numbers were released. He finished the season with his sixth consecutive year earning an overall PFF grade of 70.0 or higher.

    • Overall Grade: 71.8

    • Coverage Grade: 70.1

    • Coverage Grade Rank: 31st among qualifying cornerbacks

    • Consistency: This was his sixth straight season with an overall grade above 70.0

Correct. And his 2025 season was worse than his 2024 season which was worse than his 2023 season which was worse than his 2022 season.

He’s like the CB version of a Matryoshka doll with his worse seasons being the larger exterior dolls.

And he’s a freaking cornerback. And the Colts could easily turn into a pumpkin next year and have handed the Jets a truly elite player in what I expect to be a historic 2027 trade.

It’s a terrible, impulsive decision by Ballard IMO.

For a team who has a QB who definitely can’t win a SB it is. Now they don’t have a 1st for the next few years. GL with Daniel Jones, or another vet FA to get you there…

I do get it from the Colts perspective. There is no juggernaut in the league right now. This is the year to go try and win it all. But I have zero faith that Daniel Jones can win you a SB.

WTF. This is the move you make if you’re one piece away. We must not be as close as we think. F#ck them picks

I live here in NY…. a lot of locals feel DJ Reed is/was a better corner than Sauce. The media hype on Sauce didn’t let people see that because he was viewed as the Robin to Sauce’s Batman… but people in and around NY here feel the Lions got a steal getting Reed for free as opposed to multiple first round picks for Sauce

He is also on the field all the time this year. The offense doesn’t do them any favor with getting breathers.

I do think Ballard is feeling the pressure rn, hes been on thin ice coming into this season, and Danny Dimes has kinda saved him from the hot seat, but not entirely

He knows they need a chip or hes prolly cooked.

… still 25.

confirmed 2026 and 2027 firsts for the jets

2027… that could be a big one

The Jets made out like bandits, Sauce hasn’t been good the last two years and is signed to an enormous contract. I think the Colts are more than a Sauce Gardner away for competing for a championship and I think this is an overreaction to a hot start but I guess I can appreciate a GM going for it no matter how foolish.

They will be picking very late in 2026

Bad divison, likely picking late again in 2027

It’s a good deal if Sauce gets even close to level he was a few years ago. If he doesn’t though, the Colts just gave up the kind of picks good teams need in order to restock the roster when they lose free agents to massive offers from bad teams.

2 firsts and AD Mitchell is a haul for Glenn. He got his ā€œStaffordā€ trade.
