Devine Ozigbo RB 2 2% 7 28%
Malcolm Rodriguez FB 1 1% 15 60%
Halapoulivaati Vaitai G 0 0% 3 12%
  • Interesting that Vaitai is healthy enough for a handful of ST snaps, but not healthy enough to play on the line when Awosika went down
  • Jamo still seeing less than half the offensive snaps
  • Lots of two TE sets, presumably to protect against the Crosby threat, but it’s a little disappointing for Mitchell to only get 6 snaps, he doesn’t seem to be progressing at all
Defense Snaps % ST Snaps %
Kerby Joseph FS 46 100% 10 40%
Alex Anzalone LB 46 100% 1 4%

Jalen Reeves-Maybin LB 0 0% 17 68%
Chase Lucas CB 0 0% 17 68%
Ifeatu Melifonwu CB 0 0% 16 64%
Will Harris SS 0 0% 15 60%
  • Branch getting 100% of snaps ahead of Walker is notable
  • Will Harris getting zero defensive snaps will make a lot of people happy
  • Julian Okwara getting some serious playing time, more than coaching favorite Derrick Barnes. Maybe he’s finally making some progress
  • Romeo Okwara 5 snaps and C Harris 10 is maybe just a consequence of less need to rotate due to the defense only being on the field for 46 snaps, but they’re both clearly well behind Cominsky and Paschal in the pecking order. They’re both also behind Julian now, although Julian does play a different role as a pass rushing SAM LB rather than a pure DE
Special Teams Snaps %
Jack Fox P 15 60%
Scott Daly LS 8 32%
Riley Patterson K 7 28%
  • I don’t know why Holmes signed a long snapper to replace Daly, Jack Fox can probably long snap and punt

Interesting indeed on Vaitai. My assumption on Big V is that the coaches have him active as an emergency but that his back just needs continued rest. If they can avoid tweaking it, perhaps they can get it right for the remainder of the season. ST line blocking is different than on the line power blocking during offensive plays.

Vaiti is “healthy” but no healthy enough to play 60+ snaps a game.

Branch is definitely the S/DB starter.
5 DB sets, hes the slot. 4 DB sets hes the FS. Which is GREAT to see.

Julian is SHINNING! His pass rush win rate is really good. As is his pressure rate. Making him essential on 3rd down.

Romeo and Charles are VERY disappointing this season. Comish, Paschal and Julian are getting their share. When Houston gets back, Harris will be a non factor maybe even a healthy scratch.
Romeo tho. Idk. He feels like a place holder.

And Jamo. Unless he starts showing he can be reliable, hes not going to get any more than 30-40% of snaps, ESPECIALLY now with DPJ in the rotation

And yea Mitchell has become a FB/TE used almost exclusively on running downs. 2nd/3rd and short for blocking. Then doing some ben Johnson magic and play action to him 1-2x a game.

Can’t recall seeing Broderick Martin on the field.Anyone pay any attention to him? How did he look in his 11 snaps?

Raiders only ran 46 offense plays while their defense was on the field for 86 snaps. That’s brutal.

He did nothing of note. Not sure what’s going on with Buggs but at least when he’s out there, I notice him in mostly positive ways.

They ran a stretch play early in the game. BMart held his ground stuffed it and forced the cutback… 54 McNeil & LB filled backside lanes.

Thing of beauty

I believe it was 3rd and 1 first quarter

Interesting to see this in black and white
100% snaps on offense = 86
100% snaps on defense = 46

I wonder if practice was harder on the defense than this game.

Good post Jman.

It’s hard to gauge how much of an impact a space eater is making unless you are really looking hard for it. Especially with so few snaps. Hopefully he can become more of a ‘splash’ type of player, but simply being a good space eater has a ton of value too.

That’s called total domination. The Raiders should fire some people…oh wait.
