Montgomery on the field nearly 80% of the time compared to Gibbs 27%. I think this balances out as Gibbs gets his feet wet, but the north-south hard yards that Montgomery offers are always going to be a core part of our gameplan
First ever regular season game where Decker, Jackson, Ragnow, Vaitai and Sewell were on the field together for a single snap. And they were all on the field for every snap, long may that continue
LaPorta unsurprisingly got a big workload. TJ who?
Josh Reynolds had a big load and did a nice job (4 for 80) as a deeper threat

Zero snaps for Tracy Walker. I would have thought he might have been rotated in a little. Shows how much they like Branch
We sent out 5+ DBs on at least 68% of snaps
We sent out 5+ DL on 33% of snaps. Basically every snap is either 5-2-4 or 4-2-5
Barnes and Campbell split time pretty evenly. Interesting battle to watch as the season progresses
Levi saw some good playing time, although he did leave with an injury
I really think the Lions need to do better rotating the DLine. Harris at 80% while Commish, Levi, Houston, and Paschal are all under 42% at most is wild. Keep the guys fresh. There’s little dropoff between anyone not named Hutchinson and anyone else and most of these guys play all over. You can’t have Harris at 80% and Jones at 62% while Paschal is at 26%. Come on now.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Marvin as a dude. Glad he’s back in Detroit. But I didn’t know what he offered the Lions when he signed other than leadership and I’m still not sure if there is anything else other than that.
How many times did the get edge oh Harris, Take a look at the rushing yards other that QB being leader in first half who else got the edge.
Thats why he played so many snaps. The 2 RBs for KC had in the 20’s each an the whole team had less that a 100 90 yards as a team rushing thats why he got some many snaps.
Couple of things from this post:
Decker played every snap on offense, so, what does that mean with regards to walking in a boot?
LaPorta, sizeable load and did extremely well in receiving, YAC, and did good in blocking.
I imagine St Brown is pissed for missing those 4 plays on offense.
Siriusxm comment from the 10am show, can’t recall the hosts.
KC RB’s had 45 yards rushing, 45!
Yes, Mahomes had 43-45 good coverage by defense and his pocket presence led to that.
For his first NFL game in primetime on the road, you couldn’t really ask for more out of LaPorta. Very impressed with what he could become in the future.
It didn’t really matter who the right DE was, they weren’t getting a lot of pressure. Outside of his one pressure, Houston looked pretty well handled by Donovan Smith, who is considered more athletic.
I’m not worried about Marvin Jones for what his role is. He’ll bounce back.
I’m thinking at some point this season he’s going to be matched up with a rookie or similarly inexperienced player and will show some game. I don’t think he’s going to be productive week in week out.
